The Los Angeles Lakers!!!

Center / Forward Jordan Hill will miss the remainder of the season due to a hip tear in which he will need surgery.

At the outbreak of the news, Lakers legend Magic Johnson stated that he considers the season conceded. Johnson does not expect the Lakers to make it to the playoffs.

Dwight Howard will be re-evaluated today after re-aggravating his torn laborum in his right shoulder. Dwight Howard finds himself in an unhappy situation once more.

At what point will they give up? i wish they'd have the guts to trade Nash to another team but will never happen.

Nash final years wasted, not the ending i was hoping for, for one of my favorite players of all time.

Pau Gasol is scheduled for an MRI scanning today to determine his leg injury that happened last night.

Pau Gasol will miss six weeks worth of games due to a partial tear of his plantar fascia. Gasol, if he opts for surgery could miss three months worth of games.

Rest in Peace Jerry Buss. He passed away at aged 80. He owned the Lakers since 1979 when the dynasty of the Showtime Lakers was dawning. Despite the loss, the Buss family will still continue to own the franchise.

Lakers will be wearing a patch for the duration of the season and playoffs to honor the late Jerry Buss.

Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard

Let's all put our "GM" thinking hats on ... now if you were Kupchak what would you do in regards to Howard?
Would you say that he is the future of the Lakers?
Do you think Howard would stay?
For the next two more season until Kobe's contract finishes, can Howard and Kobe co-exist?

Personally, I'm not a fan of Howard and the amount of "goofing" around he does on and off the court.

Sure enough, Shaq during his playing days would "goof" around like Howard but when it was Game Time, Shaq was in his zone and demonstrated to the rest of the basketball world why he is one of the top 5 centres of all time.

I can't say that Howard is even in the top 10 centres of all time. He's definitely not in the top 5.

Now I can appreciate the intensity and the tough mentality of Kobe and why he is in the top 10 of all time.

Unless, Kobe and Howard can co-exist their indifference and indirect dislike of each other will continue to affect the team chemistry of the Lakers.

Currently, (especially after the trade deadline), the Lakers officially became Dwight Howard's bitch because all the leverage is on the player now. You have to remember that Dwight is an UNRESTRICTED free agent after this year.

Don't get me wrong, i hate drama queens (like Dwight) but hey the Lakers are in dire straits both in-games and the FA situation this year.

Kobe Bryant is "out indefinitely" after a bad ankle sprain. Now their playoff hopes in the meantime lies in the shoulders of Dwight Howard.

Quite ironic that you're mentioning about Howard's shoulders which he still admits are not 100% :p Now's the time though for him to give it all he has with Bryant out of the lineup

I didn't mean the pun. :P

Moving on, with Bryant and Gasol out maybe we'll see Mike D'Antoni putting the driver's seat on Nash and with Dwight Howard, they could simplify the offense with Nash at the helm. Perhaps the old Reflex Roll in the middle base similar to the 2005-2007 Phoenix Suns on which Nash and Amare Stoudemire used as their bread and butter.

why not utilize Howard in the paint? Nash could get some good passes to him and clark. I think Kobe's absence can get the Lakers on fire, they're totally judged by Kobe's leadership.

wow that's good news, would be nice to see them play again, still hoping that D'Antoni gives Howard less minutes and rotate him with gasol

Antawn Jamison has wrist tear that he suffered in last night's loss to the Washington Wizards. It is rather unclear at this time if Jamison will miss any games.

Metta World Peace had undergone surgery and will miss six weeks worth of games.

Kobe Bryant just surpassed Wilt Chamberlain to be 4th in all time scoring.

Season done for Kobe:(

Never liked him, but he is last player that desereves end carer like this. Hope he will get back
