Capitanes de Arecibo won 85-80 over Peñarol Mar del Plata

Ayuso scored 28 points in that game.

I like the chances of Peñarol in Round 2, Group E against Halcones Rojos, Capitanes de Arecibo and Flamengo Río de Janeiro.

I spoke too soon...

My fellow puerto ricans: Which tournament do you think we have better chance of winning? Liga de Las Américas o Serie del Caribe?

Cordoba beat Flamengo. I think they can pull another upset to make it to the last four. Also, Xalapa is in my opinion stronger and may qualify in Argentina as well.

Interesting. After all that polemic involving Lamonte and Flamengo, Kyle Lamonte agreed to insert in the contract termination clause in which he undertook not to compete in any match against Flamengo in 2011.

Just to remember, Lamonte was signed by Flamengo and he paid for two or three months. A week before the South American League starts he started to demand a trade (people say that he would have received a great proposal to return to Peñarol).

Now, Flamengo threat put him in court if he plays. Moreover, Peñarol states that ignore the clause in the match tonight.

Game of the tournament so far.

Capitanes need to learn to defend their opposition without commiting fouls every 15 seconds.

Peñarol Mar del Plata 90 Flamengo Río de Janeiro 76

Leo Gutierrez scored 27 points and Pablo Sebastian Rodriguez added 20 points for Peñarol; in which the team is now 1-1. Marcelinho Machado scored 25 points for Flamengo.

Damn they did it again.

Another comeback win from Arecibo, this time over Flamengo 87-85.

Capitanes de Arecibo and Halcones Rojos de Veracruz to the final four.

Go Capitanes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to la isla del encanto, see you hopefully in Mexico where they may host the finals ;)
