So they never signed Brian Zoubek which I find a real shame. This one's on me. I have visions of him backing up Brook Lopez.

Too bad. The Nets should have reconsidered Brian. Oh well, can the Bobcats sign this guy? Lol.

Can we get Brian Zoubek? Lol. :D

The New Jersey Nets have waived forward Sean May due to the re-surfacing stress fracture on his left foot.

I feel for Sean May; he hasn't been healthy for the last five seasons. The only season he averaged 11.ppg and 6rpg was his rookie season and all went downhill from thereon. He too was limited with my Sacramento Kings due to injuries on his knees.

Too bad for him. :(

New Jersey Nets Head Coach Avery Johnson told ESPN:

Derrick Favors will need to earn his minutes and starting job, being as a rookie.

I believe one of Johnson's mind games of motivation. He did it with Devin Harris when the latter was a rookie in Dallas.

The New Jersey Nets have signed veteran forward Joe Smith to a 1 year veteran's minimum contract.

That 2005 NCAA champions UNC Tarheels team was supposed to give us some dominant pros but May, Rashad McCants and Marvin Williams have all dissapointments. Only Ray Felton has been a decent pro. And all 4 of them were selected in the lottery if memory serves.

Marvin Williams is havng a pretty decent carreer in Atlanta. Not the one you expect from a 2nd overall pick but still good, i don't think you can call him a iasco like May or McCants.

I saw from ESPN the hard work Derrick Favors have put in for the couple weeks last summer. Favors has been working out with the training staff on the Nets' facility.

Hopefully this will pay dividends for his career and for the New Jersey Nets.

The New Jersey Nets have signed forward Stephen Graham to a 2 year deal.

Looking forward to the future of the New Jersey Nets with Brook Lopez and Derrick Favors up front. Should make a good pair inside.

Seems like Melo won't be heading to the Nets

Report: 'Melo trade to Nets is 'dead'

DENVER (AP)
A four-way deal that would have sent Carmelo Anthony to New Jersey is ''dead,'' a person with knowledge of the discussions said Tuesday.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak publicly about the trade.

Anthony took the court with his Nuggets teammates on the first day of training camp Tuesday. But his days in Denver could very well be numbered even after the four-team deal that also would have included Charlotte and Utah collapsed.

The Nuggets could still listen to offers.

Anthony said after practice that the basketball court has become his ''safe haven,'' a place where he doesn't have to ''deal with all the other stuff.''

''Every time I get in the gym my mind just focuses on working out, getting better, not thinking about too much,'' Anthony said.

Following the more than two-hour workout, Nuggets coach George Karl gave Anthony an ''A'' for his effort, saying he thought his star was ''very professional, very mature.''

Karl remains hopeful that Anthony will stick around.

Anthony has yet to sign off on a three-year, $65 million extension that's been on the table since June, leading the Nuggets to explore trade options. The potential deal involving the New Jersey Nets hit a road block over the weekend and then withered Tuesday.

''The perfect storm in my mind is to keep Melo, convince him that this is the best place for him, that this is where he has to win a championship,'' Karl said.

Karl made his return to practice Tuesday after missing the end of last season while undergoing treatment for throat and neck cancer. His voice still raspy, Karl carried around a whistle to get the attention of his players. But he only used it in a joking manner.

''It's fun to be back. It's fun to get the butterflies,'' Karl said. ''It's fun to interact with your basketball family.''

Karl couldn't chat for long - four minutes at a time tops. With such a veteran team, though, he really didn't need to do much instructing.

''All he has to do is say it once,'' Anthony said, grinning. ''He sounds good, he looks good.''

How much longer Karl might be coaching Anthony remains unclear. The two are hoping to get together for a chat sometime this week.

Anthony has one caveat: The conversation must remain on hoops, not hoopla.

''I want to focus on basketball right now,'' Anthony said. ''If he wants to sit and talk to me about what to do tomorrow at practice or the next day, then we can sit down and talk about that.''

Before leaving the practice court for the weight room, Anthony took off his powder blue jersey that was soaked in sweat.

It was proof of an honest day's work.

Anthony became almost agitated when asked if he might give anything less than 100 percent considering his uncertainty.

''I love the game too much to disrespect the game like that,'' Anthony said. ''Anytime I step on the court, I'm going to give it my all, regardless of what's going on, what's the situation.

''This is basketball. I focus on basketball - it's something I know how to do and I love to do. As far as my effort on the court, nobody can question that.''

Yeah, I checked AP and nba.com and the Nets Organization as well as the Utah Jazz have officially withdrawn from the Trade Bin.

Even if the trade pushes through, the Nets would have just rented Anthony for a year as Anthony would have not signed the $65 Million, 3 Year Extension on the Table which is offered by the Nets. Plus, they are giving up a potential future franchise player in Favors, as well as a talented guard in Harris.

Still, I'm happy and looking forward to see a Lopez & Favors front court.

The roster is good. They can manage it. But they really have a firepower.

Derrick Favors had 14 points and 9 rebounds to lead the Nets.

New Jersey Nets guard Terrence Williams will be wearing the Number One (1) jersey. Last year, Williams was number eight (8) on his jersey.

Shaq wants to be Nets GM

Shaq wants to be Nets GM

Shaquille O'neal talks about the love for New Jersey and is willing to be a mediator for the Nets to stay in New Jersey and not move to Brooklyn as proposed; also wants to be GM.

"I would have liked to see the new owner get with the guy who built the arena and keep the Nets there,"I don't want to see the team go to Brooklyn. Maybe the two heads can get together, they can do that and I can come down there and become general manager.

"We got a great owner, a great arena, let's keep it where it's at. Not only that, I'm saving the owner money so he doesn't have to pay another $300 million to build this new arena in Brooklyn. I know he has it. Hopefully he'll stay and hopefully he'll make me general manager because I will be available in 745 days."

Yes, make Shaq Nets GM and you will see Favors and Lopez get traded.:D:p;)

Positive things:

Positive things:

One of the great improvements for the New Jersey Nets this year is the projected Three Point weapon where they surrounded franchise player Brook Lopez with an array of 3 point shooters like Troy Murphy (39.4%career%), Travis Outlaw (36.3 percent), Jordan Farmar (35.9 percent), Anthony Morrow (46 percent), and Texas rookie Damion James (38.3 percent from the college line last year). It is like taking a page out of the Orlando Magic's structured offense.

Also, I look for the addition of rookie forward Derrick Favors to be the missing front-court mate of Lopez in rebounding and in defense of the interior. Where it is expected that Favors will have a season of rookie up and downs as Head Coach Avery Johnson will be in the constant ear of Favors; pushing him and motivating him into the product they see in him with potential.

On the last pre-season game against the Celtics, Favors struggled against veterans like Shaquille O'neal and Kevin Garnett.
