I believe Torero-man will move on, after his stint in the Philippines.

No small part because of the BCAP's hostility towards him, plus the non-cooperation of the PBA, non-cooperation of some of the best college players, etc., it has all got to be frustrating for him.

This is a great basketball country, but our focus has been on our internal needs, rather than representing the country.

You're right bro,It's really very disappointing that this is happening:(

Is Tyler Lamb already confirmed as a legit Fil-Am?

BTW, Tyler Lamb is a 2010 UCLA commitment. 6'5" shooting guard, with a 95 rating on ESPN, out of Mater Dei HS, one of the top basketball teams in the US.

If he is indeed Pinoy, I cannot wait for 2012 -- imagine what havoc a Lamb-Parks-Barroca backcourt will inflict on the opposition.

It is affirmative ! ! ! I asked an acquiantance (Mr. E. Gonzaga who works in California state prison) in Ontario, San Bernandino County, where Tyler Lamb hails from . . . he is dumb sure that Tyler's mom is a Filipina as he has mutual friends with her. . . what he can't be sure of , if she is still a Filipino citizen at the time when she had given birth to Tyler. . .

does sbp already contacted this guys? or try to invite him in our Smart Gilas team?:D

The 2009 team is infinitely better defensively than the 2007 team. On offense, 2007 wins hands down. It's really the personality of the coaches--- Yeng likes his D, and Chot likes his offense--- too bad one lacks the strength of the other.

ganito both have chances but I am sure chot would want to go back he can blow ut iran lebanon 2009 team anytime but also can be blew out by a Kazakhstan team or Japan team anytime:D:D thats how inconsistent it is than a defensive scheme

I know this is unlikely, but I am hoping that the PBA generously loan Kelly Williams, Gabe Norwood, Jarred Dillinger and Japeth Aguilar to Smart Gilas.

I second the motion. This is my wishlist too.

For Jared & Japeth. I think there is a possibility of their joining smart gilas. They are both under Manny Pangilinan's franchise. As for the others lets just hope and pray

why dont we let all the teams in the pba to support or "sponsor" a player or two from our NT? for example, ababou's and barroca's expenses and salaries will be shouldered by, let say smb. RoS will shoulder CJ giles' and Greggyboi's and other teams should adopt their own players.. that is if the PBA dont want to lend players for our NT. after all, 3 or more years later, these kids will be turning pro, and with a lot of international experience, the level of competition in the PBA will go a notch higher, good for our country and good for the pba..

i think the main reason why the PBA doesn't want to lent its player is because of money..they have to shoulder everything if they lend their players. sponsoring is also money..and they don't want to waste their resources for the national team as they know that there is nothing in return for them. let's remember that they are businessmen also and they have this thing called ROI (return on investment). even if the return is long term as the players will turn good when they return pro, there is a risk that they get injured. then what happens to my sponsorship money? poooofff!!!! wala na!

These PBA teams are no charitable institutions. and these big companies are not formed to play basketball either.

any updates of Gregory Slaughter? he is having a bad starts on offense, but how about on defense and rebounding?

that's only a technicality problem just like Eric Menk's problem before.I'm sure if this kid is willing to play for flag and country,Noli Eala would fix those problems for him.

Remeber, FIBA allows players to suit up for their grandparents' homeland like the case of puerto rico.

The only thing that we should be concerned about is if he's willing to suit up for RP.

good prospect if ever but sbp should look instead for a fil-foreigner who stand's at least 6'9,ideally a 7 footer. its been long since we have a player with the size of feihl. he has german blood so maybe sbp should scout for players with filipino lineage in europe.

and at the same time invest in Van opstal who's a 6'7 high school player
