I doubt any of the PBA teams can do shit against Taiwan... that island up north may have already surpass the Philippines and that poor delusional fans (particularly from the Philippine Bulok Association) thinks we are still superior than them...

Anyway, just like Alien Space Bat said: any of the PBA teams or PBA-backed RP Teams (from the current batch of players) can't do shit outside the PBA... and maybe, the Philippines (the PBA teams) are becoming like South Korea and Japan whose best players are the REFEREES... and the game between Smart Gilas and the Baboy King Pukers just prove that...

Rules? of course the rules doesn't matter when they play in the PBA because the results between Smart Gilas and PBA Teams meant nothing... its tune-up games.. win or loss against the "Agaw Buko" PBA teams are not something to complain about or worrying about it...

Man, sorry but in my opinion we would always have Taiwan's number if we really wanted. I am a PBA fan but not delusional. Using reality, first, the PBA players have a height advantage over the Taiwanese players. Second, talent wise, man for man we have an edge. I think our bigs play better that Chen and Wu. We have better forwards that Tien and quicker and more accurate guards that Lin. It just all boils down to teamwork. They had it because of longer preparation prior to the Jones Cup thats why they looked that good. We never had that luxury. And to address that recurring problem we now have SG.

Well last time I checked, the hastily assembled Powerade team beat Taiwan's best team. I agree with Lizardking said, I believe that a couple of good PBA teams such as TNT, SMB, and Ginebra can give Taiwan a run for their money. The simple reason is that these teams have been playing together for so long and they have enough size to handle the Taiwanese. I know you hate the PBA, but it's still the premier league in the Philippines and that 50 percent of the best players in the country are here.

I concur, it all boils down to teamwork.

So if SG is losing right now, its mainly because they can't run like a well-oiled machine like the better PBA Teams. I'm not counting the Burger King loss though. Anyone would be rendered ineffective when everytime they drive in or jump for a rebound they have to watch out for undercutting players. But given time, of course its a given that they will get better.

pba players are tough to beat in pba games because won games translate to bonuses.and money is always a great motivator.

...and pinoys know how to play against pinoys.

BK and TNT used their heft and gulang inside to exploit the gilas interior defense.

japeth, ramos, ballesteros and even giles need to bulk up so that they wont be pushed around.

if gilas can address this problem on defense... no pba team can beat them.

When Rabeh is back from sick-bay and has re-learn at least the basic things of the Toroman system. GILAS would be able to have a kind of guy that cannot be pushed much around ...... then come November let's see how Greg and JunMar will match-up with the bigmen of the PBA teams.

Coach is already addressing the defense on the 3 and 4 spots, the boys just have to do a better job in getting on how it should be done.

But I agree this is still a work-in-progress with a lots of room for improvement for the whole team. For me I am thankfull to the PBA teams as they are exposing these weaknesses as it gives the GILAS team time to fix the matter as early as possible.

What I like most about Coach Rajko, even though he gets mad at certain players during the game, at the end of the game he could explain clearly to the players what they did wrong and what should have been. Then he would remind everybody that there must be no pointing on who is to blame for the loss and he is the one who is directly responsible as he was not able to take full control. I'll say .... It's still a long way ..... but we are on the right direction.

Good read. If they can address the defense problem they'd be hard to beat. Plus, if i may add, better sealing-off and rebounding. Siempre, mas ayos kung matuto narin sila mang gulang.

trans: They should learn that which you do not speak of.

It's really hard to see Gilas losing a big margin against TNT but on the positive side the have time to address those weakness. I'm sure Gilas team will improve as they play against the PBA team. We have to remember even the Iran, Lebanon and Jordan when they started to build their NT, they suffer defeat and sometimes lopsided defeat but as they progress they finally improve and starting to play very well internationally.

its working fine here sir.,
