i hope this kids will continue to play hard... lets pray for them... :)

im scared about the fatigue factor... it may affect their game... especially ravena...

Loh Shee Wong of Malaysia is no joke. He had another great game earlier with 34pts, 12 rebs, 2 stls, 1 asst against Chinese Taipei. We'll find out tomorrow if he can still put up those impressive numbers against the tall Iranian frontline.

If he does, I see him as Malaysia's anchor on offense in next year's Seaba u18 tournament. I won't be surprised if he'll be part of Malaysia's roster for the 2011 sea games.

Future of RP Basketball------SAFE

i agree wiht you in terms of player we have the future and now is the time to lay down that program and we will see our NT back at the top in near future

It's good to see that we have a good program for the youth team. Kudos to the SBP for having a good solid program for the youth team anyway win or lose tomorrow we are qualifiy in the quarter finals. Maybe coach E should give K-Rav a break I'm sure ravena is the mark man when the quarter comes. Ravena should prepare for a tough defense.

JOHOR BAHRU (FIBA Asia U16 Championship): Chinese Taipei found their first win in the Championship by way of a 114-78 verdict over Malaysia, but in the process dampened the hopes of the home crowd.

Loh Shee Wong fought a lonely, therefore losing, battle with an incredible game-high 34 points. More importantly, the youngster played all the 40 minutes of the game.

Chen Ying-chun’s team-high 24 points, on the other hand, found a lot of support from his teammates.

As a result, the result of the game – from a scoreline perspective – went in favour of Taipei.

Taipei, who lost to Iran on the opening day thus bounced back into contention. Malaysia, who beat Thailand just after the Opening Ceremony now face the mighty Iranians.

Scores

Chinese Taipei 114 (Chen Ying-chun 24, Wang-Jen-chieh 19, Chen Kuan-chuan 18, Wu Chia-chun 14, Chung Wei-ping 12) bt Malaysia 78 (Lohg Shee Wong 34). Quarterwise Scores: 28-8, 49-30, 78-52.

China defeats Jordan 117-44.

for the 2nd straight game Jordan's star player #6 MAJDI AL-GHZAWI did not play. Without their one-man-wrecking crew, the Jordanians are no match to the much-much taller Chinese team, China is just overpowering as they controlled the rebounds 37 to 12 in which they had 14 second chance points to Jordan's zero. The Chinese had a 68-18 advantage on points at the paint. China also had 20 steals to 5 of Jordan. China also had more assists at 19-5.

This time it was Tolomia's turn to shine, it looks like Bahrain devised a defensive game plan on Ravena, anyhow, Ravena played smart and just provided as a decoy.

What amazes me is how we out rebounds our taller opponents. We still have to limits our turnovers though come QF time.

Congrats to the boys!!! Keep it up.

Congratulations to the U16 Team Pilipinas for the 3-0 sweep of Group B of the Preliminary Round by beating Bahrain 62-45.

They did it after trailing 13-19 after the end of the 1st quarter. Tolomia topscored at 27 with Teng scoring 9 and Ravena having 8 points.

Next would be the Quarterfinals, we thus avoid facing the very tall China, very rough South Korea and Chinese-Taipei in the Quarterfinals. We would thus face the tall Iran team which are itching to get back at Coach E's team after absorbing 2 beatings in Cebu. Then there's Jordan which is now playing possum and Syria.

I would like to reiterate that Jordan's best player #6 Magdi has so far not played in this tournament, obviously the Jordan coaching staff is hiding him from being scouted. At the WABA Qualifyers, he burned the hoops with his high-scoring act and literally carried his team to qualification. With him being well rested makes him a very big factor at the Quarterfinals. As a 16 year old, his game is already at the level of the Senior National Team and they're considering bringing him at the Istanbul FIBA World Championship next year.
