Todor Gecevski (MZT) a new Macedonian basketball project, the goal is EL in less than 3 years.

Kiril Nikolovski (MZT) just signed with the club
Vlado Ilievski (Efes/Lokomotiv)

Vojdan Stojanovski (BC Donesk)
Damjan Stojanovski (MZT)
Predrag Samardžiski (BC Lietuvos Rytas)

Riste Stefenov former Union and Besiktas player didnt even get a call. Dropet Pavle Nikolov (Galatasaray) Magdinski (Partizan) both very talented but too young. Also droped Gjuroski (Luisiana Tech, NCAA) and Zafirovski (Duke NCAA).

Kostoski playd good against Russia so deserved his spot. Vojdan Stojanovski fantastic against Lithuania a week aga, good also against America U23. MVP in the UKR finals so he seems to be our next star like Petar Naumovski, Vrbica Stefanov. He have made huge porgress.

Also nice to see Kiril Nikolovski back on the national team. He supposed to play in Lithuania but got a nasty injury just before the EC.
 
Puerto Rico beats FYR of Macedonia 96 - 77, tomorrow they will play again.

We have very short preperation, this worrys me. Since we have no super stars we need our team work to click speciell in defence, but time is short.
 
deserved win for Puero Rico they destroyed us in the paint.....We played a very very bad defence, 96points thats not our game. This is the first game we play complete i expected that.

Man we got a taste of Macedonia's defense in that second quarter. Only 14 points made.

Santiago missing wide open layups. He and Barea are frustated cause their getting hit a lot haha. I feel a couple of technicals coming in the second half.
 
Macedonia allowing offensive rebounds everytime they go into a zone, they did yesterday, they doing so today.

However,I believe that FYROM will be eliminated in group stage.
New Zeland will qualify as 1st and Angola as 2nd.
This is my opinion,maybe I would make wrong.

We have some serious problems with our defence not even close to our defence just 9 nine months ago. We need to deal with this very soon but time is short and only been complete 2 matches.

Last year we won 3 preperation matches and lost 7 but later good at EC so lets keep our fingers crossed.

Don't worry guys if you want to beat teams like Porto Rico you have to play defence 100% run up and down all the time its a very physical game and our players didnt even tried in the first game to play defence and in the second they acted like pussies maybe knowing its just an friendly(our coach said we were surprised how agressive the puerto ricans started thinking about Samargjski face injury in the first game). Also Puerto Rico is in Full tournament-mode played Centrobasket only a week ago i think. While our Teamcore didnt played together before thata game which is bad......but we get used to it.


PS: I personally think that our players are scared of being injured right before the qualifiers because it happend often in the past. Also slow Acclimatisation and only two games played with the complete roster made us look bad. But Puerto Rico played very well and deserved both wins. I am pretty sure we will see a different Macedonia in 4 days and of course a better defence!!!
