I think he is taller than 6'6".ThAT GUY IN GRAY is alredy 6'3".

im from pangasinan and im from urdaneta too.. yeah u shud try to scout here in pangasinan... one of my brother classmates here stand at 6'1 or 6'2 i think and he is 15 or 16 yr old.

How about the late Jimmy Javier from Binmaley, Pangasinan. He was 6'6" and was one of the tallest players when he played for Crispa in the PBA. Send scouts in Pangasinan not just to look for big men. I'm sure they'll be amazed by the huge number of talents. Binmaley may not be producing big men consistently but the standard of basketball is at par anywhere in the Phils. These 2 barangays alone( Caloocan Norte and Sur ) can be potential goldmine for basketball players especially if they can have better guidance.
Going back to the topic, can I add that the Magsanocs, Marzans and even Patrimonios are from Pangasinan or trace their roots from the province.

Historically, the ancestors of the Pangasinan folks are also the ancestors of the aborigine Taiwanese (not the chinese expats)

Funfact, the ancestors of the Pampangenous are the Mexican migrants during the 1600s.... resulting to their mestiza complexion and tall players such as dennis espino and those growling tigers aric del rosario colects

Also add to the list of cagers from Pangasinan are Junio(former Letran Knight) and Michael Salvado of NU, also June Marzan, I think Cris Calaguio is also from Pangasinan and Gabby Espinas( I saw this guy tried out University of Pangasinan):D

You mean you actually saw Espinas try out at UPang? maybe I know you. am here in UPang almost daily; this is where I post. Calaguio is the nephew of my bro-in-law with 1st cousin. Pangasinan roots but did not grow up here.

Present UPang varsity are mini. None taller than 6-3. Didn't know Lunas was from Pang. Asked Sir Nardy if there were height projections for this 16 y.o. as in bone analysis for ex., I don't know if he'll reach 6-10. Marlou was a 6-4 14 y.o., rode a bus with him once. I was in H.S. then.

If this is the Javier comedian-singer, (Tolonges if anyone remembers) I remember him giving his height as 6-4 in Student Canteen interview. (remember Student Canteen?)

A basketball player friend (5-6) surnamed Magsano said that they had the last "c" removed legally. Please provide documentation on Patrimonio. That's very interesting.

ahhh upang... is there any rivalry between urdaneta city and dagupan city when it comes to highschool basketball?

Patay Butiki is right Jimmy Javier is not the showbiz guy. He's better looking though and he's not the typical slow and awkward moving tall fellow during his time. He's athletic and agile. He didn't meet his potential due to the the number of big name superstars in Crispa + I don't think basketball was his passion especialy coming from well off family in Binmaley. As for the Patrimonios, they come from the Vergara clan of Umingan. The once promising " Magnum " Membrere also hails from Umingan too.

Remembering UPang Greyhounds, once they had a player named Bong Fernandez again from Binmaley. He's about 6'3- 6'4" and during his time Coach Monje's team was unbeatable. I can't believe the lad didn't make it professionally because he's got everything. He has 4 other basketball playing brothers too all standing over 6'1" and above. Another dominant player that Upang had was Mario Arenas. He was about again 6'3". He briefly played for the Red Lions and then for some reason went back to play and dominated college basketball in Dagupan. He had a stint in the MBA and was one of few pure bred Pangasinense who played for Pangasinan team. With proper guidance Mayong could have made it in the PBA. Speaking of Pangasinan Presidents/Waves another pure bred Pangasinense was the very athletic " Scottie Pippen " look- alike Juan Castro who I believe is now into Coaching in Dagupan. He nearly made it to the RP Youth team during his UP days but thanks to basketball politics the poor boy lost his place. Chot Reyes can tell you more about him...

none as far as I know. Dagupan schools have their own mini-league with 6 schools at most. no notable player coming from its ranks except maybe Marlon Basco (Univ. of Luzon), played briefly for Ginebra, now at Liga. I don't think he's even homegrown. U. Luzon downloads Manila talent to play as locals.

Mario Arenas I know. Chito Loyzaga body; never went far because of Merry leafing, (as in Mari ___) so pathetic. Another UPang talent we exported is a certain 6-4 junior high student which PCU tried to pass off as a collegian. A very unchristian thing to do leading to their suspension from the league.

(am not 100% sure on the PCU thing, but the junior player I'm definite.)

on J. Castro of Lyceum Northwestern, the guy was cocky; (malastog!) we had a good time heckling him; feels like one of the pros after making a basket. Once guarded Biboy Simon in a short tournament here. Also participating was a young Mark Pingris who got an elbow to the midsection from a UL player.

and so FVR.. :D

and so I never voted for any Pangasinense politician. Arroyo is also claiming half her roots to Pangasinan, what with 1 M + voters. the Arroyos are childhood friends with the Duque's former owners of UPang. Note the # of key govt. officials, especially appointed, hailing from Pang.

marion magat. 6'6" forward. NU Bulldogs. Urdaneta, Pangasinan.

It seems that NU has been recruiting a lot of guys from Pangasinan. Maybe the Danny I connection.

this must be vincent tinte. his batch in urdaneta national high school was a very strong team:

1. jovet mendoza, dlsu
2. marion magat, nu
3. joseph terzo, nu
4. vincent tinte, feu team b

FEU already has a 6'10" African Import starting his residency requirements this year, and it seems they are also now "collecting" tall, local players like Tinte, Escoto and Ambohot.
