His contract in Chimki is 1.5M euro per season. Do you think he will sign in Maccabi for less than 1M euro? Maccabi lets Eliyahu go to TAU, because Maccabi doesn't want to pay him 1M euro, as TAU suggests. Now Maccabi will give this money to Lampe? Where is the upgrade?

I saw the play-off series live on sportbox.ru, where every player, which guarded by Lampe, scored a new career high.

As for Lampe, you're saying he's not high Euroleague level player but where have you been when Wisnievski agreed to terms with Maccabi? Is Wisnievski a high Euroleague level player?

I'm not saying Lampe is a good player nor am I saying he's a bad one. But I trust Pini and Sharon know what they're doing.

Wishiewski is very good player. I wrote that Maccabi should sign him much before the first rumour about (you may ask in Tzahevet forum). You will be glad, that he signed with Maccabi, don't worry. He will be the quiet but powerfull engine for the team.

From the other hand Lampe is something else. About 3 years ago Lampe was very talanted young player. But he is getting worse and worse with every season. Regress. Don't think that Chimki has no money. Don't think that Sergio Scariolo is an idiot. Everything is very clear - Lampe isn't good enough!

I'm not worried about wisniewski, I like him too. The only reason I used him as an example is exactly because I know you like him (I read at tzahevet too).

Scariolo isn't an idiot but that doesn't mean Pini is. Lampe's regression is worrying but what are the alternatives? If Maccabi won't be able to sign Lavrinovic or pay Tomic's buy-out, would you rather have James Gist, Sharrod Ford or CJ Wallace?
 
First of all , the user @ salnews who posted about possible Lasme signing , also posted that Lampe would be signed as a center , not a PF.

So I guess it makes him a bench player, MTA already has a starting center : Fischer .

Second, Lampe is not that bad, just check his statistics in Russian league against Russian EL-level teams.

I don't know if the relations between him and Scariolo were bad ( as a rumor says ), but one thing for sure : with Scariolo arrival Lampe's minutes on the court dropped off as well as his FG percents , so it probably unfair to judge his performance by his numbers in EuroCup play-offs .

I believe the word you are looking for is parity. Germany and France have parity in their leagues, unlike say Russia or Greece. However, they certainly are not competitive to me. So I would say parity is the right way to say it.

It's true that Russia and Greece lack parity in their leagues. Italy has some parity, but still Siena is clearly dominant at the top. And even in Spain where there is some parity you still pretty much have 4 top teams and everyone else is noticeably far below those clubs.

Actually, the Euroleague is much the same. There's like 5-8 teams that are so far ahead of the other teams year after year. The NBA........same story, every year 4-5 teams are way above the other teams. So I understand what you are saying, but I don't think it's a good thing that France and Germany don't have any stand out clubs. It's actually a bad thing.

Look, you can split semantics or you can look at facts. A competitive league is a league, where real competition exists, where teams really compete for success with each other. Competitiveness within a league isn't measured by the stand of this league in comparison to another league but how teams within that league manage to compete with each other. There is no parity in the BBL, ACB or French League. Those leagues simply feature a lot of teams that can go deep in the playoffs and even compete for the title. Not just one or two. The better German teams without injury trouble are not much worse than better Russian or Greek teams. I'm not talking about the best, just the better. Artland used to kick ass of Russian teams in its last trip to the Uleb Cup, while the injury-hit Skyliners beat Triumph at home. Triumph is a Top-5 team in Russia. The Skyliners used to beat Panionis and Panathinaikos in recent years and gave a major scare to CSKA twice. It also beat Maccabi in a test game, while having to play without its best post player and a couple of good guards. Anyway, that's bringing us away from the original topic, where I see no further reason to split hairs.
 
P.Jankunas should replace M.Lampe in Khimki( They offer him a good contract, but he doesn`t want to hurry).
Talking about Benneton and Rytas, Kurtinaitis have a very good offer from Benneton( his salary in Rytas is very low) other candidates is Z.Repesa, F.Katsikaris, S.Subotic, V.Perasovic. Rytas have one alternative - they are talking with O.Mahmuti and if Kurtinaitis will leave team, they will offer for him 1+1 deal. Also Rytas is very interested in I.Milosevic.

With all the respect, you don't sign players by stats. I saw him with my own eyes playing in the russian playoffs, and I don't need stats to decide: he's bad!

I agree with both hands on "you don't sign players by stats", but you probably missed my point :

With Scariolo arrival Lampe's minutes on the court dropped off as well as his FG percents , so it probably unfair to judge him only by his performance in the end of the season during play-offs.

Look... I speak russian, and I'm spending a lot of time on russian basketball forums. Today I heard just a same words from all of the guys that I respect their opinion: A shitty player! Maccabi's scouts are very disappointing.

Well, if it's the case it's rather sad :(

There is still a hope that all this Lampe rumor was leaked on purpose to press somebody else ( D. Lavrinovic ?) to sign immediately with MTA.

You know , a dirty trick like "sign with us or we will sign with Lampe" :)
