The 2024 Olympic basketball schedule takes place from July 26th through August 10th, 2024 for the men’s side. It’s hard to believe that it’s time for the Olympic games already, but it is. We love the Olympics since its one of the best International competitions that we get to enjoy outside of the FIBA World Cup.
Where do the 2024 Olympic Basketball Games Take Place?
So, Paris is a big city 🙂 The group stages of play for the men’s tournament are held at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille. Then, we move on to the big house for the knockout rounds of play. Those occur at Accor Arena in Paris. The 3 on 3 games are held at Place de la Concorde. This is the largest open air square in Paris. It’s at the eastern end of the Champs-Elysees if you find yourself attending the games in person (or happen to be in Paris during all of the madness).
Which Teams have Qualified for the 2024 Olympic Men’s Basketball Event?
So far, we have eight teams that are fully qualified to participate in the 2024 Olympic basketball schedule. The teams who have earned a spot already are some of the ones you’ll want to check their odds at VIP betting sites. You should expect to see four additional teams earn spots through the Olympic Qualifying Tournament process later this summer. Those are winner take-all contests and should be pretty cool to check out based on what I’ve seen in past OQTs.

The eight national programs that have qualified thus far are Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Serbia, South Sudan, and Team USA — outside of Japan and South Sudan, you’re looking at 6 contenders for an Olympic medal. The groups for the 2024 Paris Olympics have been drawn / assigned. Top two teams out of each group move on to the knock-out stage of the tournament.

What Countries are in 2024 Olympic Qualifying Tournaments?
So, there are a lot of great basketball teams that have to earn a spot in the Paris Olympics. We have each Olympic Qualifying Tournament listed here for you as well as the location it takes place. These tournaments occur July 2nd- July 7th, 2024.
- OQT (Latvia): Latvia, Georgia, Philippines, Brazil, Cameroon, or Montenegro
- OQT (Puerto Rico): Puerto Rico, Mexico, Lithuania, Ivory Coast, Italy, or Bahrain
- OQT (Greece): Slovenia, Greece, Croatia, Dominican Republic, New Zealand, or Egypt
- OQT (Spain): Spain, Angola, Lebanon, Poland, Finland, or Bahamas
2024 Olympic Basketball Schedule

The Olympic basketball games take place just about a month + after the 2024 NBA Finals conclude. So, unlike a lot of the professional soccer players, most countries’ basketball teams are able to get some work in before it’s time to show up in Paris to get started with Group play.
