Hidayet Turkoglu, Turkey
Nba.com: Turkoglu played in Efes Pilsen (Turkey) from 1995-96 to
1999-00. The Turk won the Silver medal at the 2001 European Championship with
the Turkish National Team. He was selected by the Sacramento Kings as 16th
overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft. Named to the 2000-01 Schick All-Rookie
Second Team after averaging 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 74 games for
Sacramento, he participated in the “got milk?” Rookie Challenge. He also
finished second in the Fleer Shootaround, and led the Sacramento team to the
inaugural 3-on-3 989 Sports Hoop-it-Up championship at 2002 NBA All-Star Weekend
in Philadelphia. In the summer of 2003, he was traded to the San Antonio Spurs,
in a complicated deal that also brought Ron Mercer to San Antonio, making the
organization very pleased. |
