Olympic Rules - By InterBasket.Net Staff - March 16, 2004

Olympic basketball is governed by the rules established by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The rules are slightly different from both the NBA and Eurleague.

The biggest difference for NBA fans will be the trapezoid-shaped key or lane. This gives an advantage to shooters and players with more skill, rather than big men who rely on their muscle to score points. Below is a diagram of the dimensions of the Olympic basketball court. To learn more about the differences between rules, read the NBA & Olympic Rules Differences page. -Matt Blair

Notice the trapezoid-shaped key of the Olympic court. Most other dimensions are very similar to the NBA.
