LeBron Misses Preseason Game with “Soreness”- LeBron James sat out of today’s preseason game against the Spurs due to what the Heat called “soreness”. “It’s been a pretty hectic week,” head coach Erik Spoelstra said. “I just want to make sure he’s fresh for next week.” (ESPN)

Lakers Winless in Preseason- The Lakers fell 103-98 to the Kings yesterday to drop to 0-5 on the preseason. Kobe Bryant scored 22 and Pau Gasol scored 20 in the loss (NBC Sports).

West Reinstated to Mavs- After serving a brief suspension for conduct detrimental to the team, Delonte West was reinstated to the Dallas Mavericks this week. Head coach Rick Carlisle didn’t offer any details on the reason for the suspension, but he decided to lift the ban after he met and talked with West (Sporting News).

Stephen Curry Hurts Ankle- Warriors guard Stephen Curry was pulled out of their preseason against Portland after another played rolled up on his surgically repaired ankle. Curry missed 40 games last season due to the problem ankle, which he had surgery on in April (Sports Illustrated).

Cavs Pick Up Option on Irving- As expected the Cleveland Cavaliers exercised their option on last season’s NBA Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving. Irving averaged 18.5 points and 5.4 assists per game in his first NBA season (NBA.com).

Fever Take 2-1 Over Lynx in WNBA Finals- The Indiana Fever defeated the Minnesota Lynx in game three of the WNBA Finals 76-59. The Fever are now one win away from the championship against the defending champions (WNBA.com).
