Spurs reel in Brazilian Big Tiago Splitter
The San Antonio Spurs were finally able to convince one of their international draftees to don the black and silver for the coming 2010-11 NBA season.

No it’s not Greek pivot Ioannis Bourousis, but Tiago Splitter, the Spur’s 28th selection in the 2007 NBA Draft and 2010 Spanish League MVP.
The 25-year old Splitter is a 6-11 banger from Brazil who has spent his professional basketball career in the ACB, the Spanish League. Splitter has played with TAU Saski Baskonia since 2003 and was named to the 2008-09 and 2009-10 All-Euroleague Second Team.
The Spurs are reportedly paying $500,000 buyout to Splitter’s current club, Baskonia, to bring him over. Splitter holds Spanish citizenship and speaks three languages; Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
