Watch: Buck’s Andrew Bogut falls; injures arm/elbow

Andrew Bogut, the 7-0 Aussie center for the Milwaukee Bucks, was quietly putting together a career season when trying to brace his fall from a dunk dislocated his elbow.

Bogut will have season-ending surgery today, ending a great season in which the former #1 overall pick was having his best NBA season.

Bogut and his Bucks have been a surprise this season. The addition of Brandon Jennings seems to have triggered something for the Bucks and Bogut this year.

Even without Michael Redd, their leading scorer over the last several seasons, Bogut has teamed with the rookie Jennings, backup PG Luke Ridnour, Ersan Ilyasova, and Luc Mbah a Moute to push the Bucks into their first NBA playoffs since the 2005-06 season.

In his fifth NBA season, the 25 year old Bogut was putting up career highs in points (15.9), blocks (2.5), and was a tick away from matching his 10.3 rebounds he averaged last season (10.2).

“It’s really disappointing for Andrew,” said veteran Jerry Stackhouse. “I think he’s worked really hard to put this team in position to be in the playoffs, and be where we are right now. No way we’d be anywhere close to it without him. Just disappointing he doesn’t get an opportunity to taste it a little bit.”
