Behind LeBron James, Cavs are favorites to win NBA Championship
As a fan of the NBA and with the 2010 playoffs around the corner, I already have my picks for those teams that might go all the way. Here are the NBA odds for my favorite teams to win the NBA title this season (Discuss the NBA in our forum):
The Cleveland Cavaliers (2 / 1) will probably finish with the best record, considering that LeBron James is having a monster season, averaging 29.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game. During the season the Cavs reached thirteen wins in a row including victories over the Lakers and Orlando Magic.
The Atlanta Hawks (20 / 1) are 45-25 so far and are ranked fourth in the Eastern Conference with only two defeats in the last seven games. The sixth man of the year, Jamal Crawford, gives the Hawks enough talent to give a good show in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
After a 23-5 start the Boston Celtics (10 / 1) loss 8 of their 14 meetings in January, but they have improved their performance with four victories in the last five games. Also, it’s their defense performance in recent games that make the Celtics one of the most attractive teams to bet on. Not to mention they have players like Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen that certainly will make an impact for the Celtics in the playoffs.
The Denver Nuggets (10 / 1) are 47-23 and are averaging 107.5 points per game. The Nuggets lost only one player from last season, Dahntay Jones, in a season that placed the Nuggets as an NBA’s elite team. I think there’s no reason to believe that this has changed, in fact, I would venture to say that this season will be even better for the Nuggets.
Los Angeles Lakers (9 / 4) averages 102.9 points per game but there are two things that placed the Lakers away from the top, injuries and the chemistry between players.
The Lakers defense is the most positive feature of the team including its consistency, but if we talk about shooting I think they are not doing a good job and it seems to be something that they can’t control. However I am expecting a better performance by Kobe Bryant because if they face the Nuggets in the playoffs it could get ugly.
