The Purefoods Tender Juicy Giant, owned by the San Miguel-Purefoods Company, Inc., left Alaska Aces winless in the series and claimed the trophy in the fourth game played on Wednesday.

The successors of Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters defeated Alaska 86 to 76 and have now five titles in the competition.

James Yap, named MVP of the Cup finals (not a cup in the traditional sense, but an all-Filipino championship), scored 18 points for the winners, with Roger Yap adding 16, nine rebounds and six assists and Kerby Raymundo and Rico Maierhofer (both with six boards) 13 and 12 points, respectively.

For Alaska the best on court was Joachim Toss with a double-double (19 points and 12 rebounds), followed by Willie Miller, who netted 17 points and grabbed six rebounds, and L.A. Tenorio with 11 points, six assists and five boards.
