Jordan’s Zaid Abbaas thrives for Shanghai Sharks in China

Shanghai, ChinaZaid Abbaas will feature prominently for Jordan at the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey but for now, the athletic forward is making a name for himself in Shanghai, China.

Abbaas led the Shanghai Sharks, the team owned by Yao Ming, to a 119-113 overtime win against Bayi in the CBA on Wednesday with 25 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Abbaas is averaging almost 14 points and 11 rebounds per contest.

Abbaas was not the only national team star in the game. Bayi’s China international Wang ZhiZhi had a game-high 26 points and 14 rebounds in defeat.

Shanghai is now 7-3 and in fourth place while Bayi is seventh place with a 6-5 record.

At the top of the standings are Guandong, led by Du Feng and Smush Parker, the team breezed to a 10th consecutive win on Wednesday. Read the original article at FIBA.com.
