Brazilian Team Revolts against Coach Lula

Brazilian Coach Lula Ferreira (UOL)After being blown out by the United States on Monday and a disappointing loss the day after to underachieving Puerto Rico, the Brazilian National Team held a closed-door, players-only meeting to discuss their team.

Translation: Lets talk about the coach.

In the meeting, the players decided that coach AluisioLula” Ferreira wasn’t coaching in the manner the players preferred; they came to the conclusion that Lula lacked strategic intelligence and his player rotation lacked sense. They placed responsibility on Lula’s shoulders for the way they were playing (see: losses). Don’t know how much of this is true or not, but it’s always convenient to time these type of closed-door meetings after a couple losses.

All the players agreed that they would no longer follow Lula’s orders. The Brazilians players would form a democracy among them and decide strategy and how to distribute playing time and player rotation amongst themselves.

It’s one thing to have one or two players reject your coaching, but to have all twelve players unanimously agree that you aren’t the right person for the job? Well, the future doesn’t look good for Lula, even if Brazil advances and qualifies, it’s most likely that after the Tournament of the Americas, coach Ferreira will be fired.   (thanks to asdzas)
