Video: Jeremy Lin’s amazing shot vs. William & Mary
I know Jeremy Lin’s off-balance, buzzer beating game-winner during Harvard’s home opener happened almost a month ago, forgive me, I just discovered this amazing clutch shot.
Harvard’s not exactly a visible basketball school, so this is probably the first time you’re seeing this too.
Check out Lin’s amazing three-point shot that gave Harvard an 87-85 win over William & Mary in TRIPLE OVERTIME. It’s #6 in Sportcenter’s top ten.
The video starts out with William & Mary’s Sean McCurdy dribbling down court and hitting a layup with just under four seconds left, giving William & Mary a 85-84 lead.
Harvard quickly inbounded the ball to Lin, who calmly raced up the right side of the floor. Lin was bumped at midcourt by Danny Sumner. As Lin went up to shoot was, he was bumped again, this time by McCurdy as he double-clutched and threw up a one-handed three from two steps inside halfcourt.
The shot went in, Harvard went crazy.
The refs actually called a foul on McCurdy, but at that point, it didn’t matter. Harvard snuck out with the amazing win in a matchup between the United States’ two oldest universities. Lin finished with 19 points, nine assists, five rebounds, two steals in 46 minutes, and another notch to Lin’s basketball legend.
Last season, Lin led the Crimson Lin with 27 points, 8 assists, 6 steals, 3 rebounds and 2 blocks in an 82-70 upset win over nationally-ranked Boston College – Harvard’s first win over a ranked team EVER.
We’ve featured Jeremy Lin a couple times now on Interbasket.
Lin is the 6-3 Asian-American point guard prospect that plays for Harvard. He will likely get looks and be invited to NBA training camps, but it’s unlikely Lin will make the NBA despite being the leader of the Crimson Tide for the last three seasons.
