Papaloukas, Diamantidis plan returns to WC 2010

Theo Papaloukas and Dimitris Diamantidis will play for Greece in the 2010 World ChampionshipsGood news for Hellas, the superstar backcourt of Theo Papaloukas and Dimitris Diamantidis plans on returning to the Greek National Team for the 2010 World Championships.

Both players missed the 2009 Eurobasket tournament this past summer.

“My goal is to be (at the World Championships).” Papaloukas told the media during a press conference. “If my body complies and if I fit in the coach’s plans I will be glad to be there.”

“I too would like to return to the National Team and help in the effort at the World Championships.” Diamantidis added.

The two players play on competing clubs, arch-rivals Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, in the Greek league. Papaloukas plays for the reds (Olympiacos), while Diamantidis plays for the Greens (Panathinaikos).

The World Championships will be held from August 28th to September 12th, 2010 in Instanbul, Turkey.
