Los Angeles Clippers down Maccabi Tel Aviv 108-96

With Chris Kaman leading the way, the Los Angeles Clippers defeated Maccabi TelAviv 108-96 last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Kaman led seven Clipper players in double-figures with 18 points.

Sebastian Telfair scored 15 points with seven assists, rookie Blake Griffin added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, Rasual Butler scored his 12 points, all in the first half, Eric Gordon added 11 points, Craig Smith 11 points , and Baron Davis had 10 points.

Griffin shot 6-7 from the field.

Chuck Eidson top-scored 18 poionts for Maccabi.

Doron Perkins, a former University of Santa Clara star, tallied a triple-double (16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists), his final assist coming on a 3-pointer by USC graduate David Bluthenthal at the final buzzer.

Bluthenthal added 12 points and Andrew Wisniewski scored 11 points for the Israeli club.

The loss to the Clippers came two days after losing to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, 106-91.

There was a moment of silence at the game’s start for former Maccabi executive Moni Fanan, who Jerusalem police said hung himself at his home on Monday. According to the AP, Fanan was 63 years old and had managed the club for 16 seasons, winning 15 Israel League titles before stepping down a year ago after clashing with team officials.
