Carlos Arroyo returns to NBA, signs with Miami Heat
Carlos Arroyo, a member of the Puerto Rican national team returned to the NBA after signing with the Miami Heat.
The 6-2 guard returns to the NBA after spending a season with Euroleague club Maccabi Tel Aviv. Arroyo played in 28 games, and averaged 15.3 points, 5.8 assists and 3.7 rebounds for the Israeli team.
The 30-year-old Arroyo has ties to Florisa, most recently playing for the Orlando Magic and having starred at Florida Interntaional.
Arroyo has played in a total of 433 NBA regular season games with Toronto, Denver, Utah, Detroit and the Magic. If Arroyo makes to the regular season, he will become the first Hispanic player on a Heat regular-season roster.
In his NBA career, he averaged 7.0 points, 3.3 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 18.2 minutes. The terms of the contract were not disclosed by Miami in Monday’s announcement.
