The shot came with 3.0 seconds remaining in the game with the score tied at 81.  The shot would swish through, leaving 1.1 seconds remaining on the clock, and would ultimately give the Orlando Magic an 84-81 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday afternoon.  The win evens up the NBA Playoff series at two games apiece.

Turkoglu scored the Magic’s final five points, including the buzzer-beating three. Andre Iguodala’s desperation 3-pointer missed at the buzzer.

Before hitting eight of eleven shots in game four, Turkoglu has shot just 23.3% from the field in the first three games.  “The coach had confidence in me,” said Turkoglu, “He called a play for me and I’m just glad I made it.”

“He’s a pretty confident guy,” Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said of Turkoglu. “He goes through stretches, tough games, but he’s a pretty tame guy.”

Turkoglu is averaging 12.5 points during the series, 16.5 points in Orlando’s two wins.  Game five of the best-of-seven series is Tuesday night, April 28, 2009 in Orlando.
