Pic: When Hamed met Omri (or Iran met Israel)

It didn’t happen the first time around as Hamed Haddadi was deactivated before the game. However, when the Sacramento Kings visited the Memphis Grizzlies last night, Omri Casspi, the first Israeli NBA player met up with Hamed Haddadi, the NBA’s first Iranian player.

Below is a pic of their meeting before the game.

Why is this such a big deal? Check out our previous posting about Iran and Israel or talk about the historic moment in our forum.

The Memphis Grizzlies pulled out a 116-105 win over the Kings. Rookie Casspi scored 15 points off the bench, and recorded 3 rebounds and 2 steals, but the 21-year old from Yavne, Israel was ejected from the game after receiving two technical fouls (both techs are nothing to talk about).

The 7-2 Haddadi was active on the roster this time around, but saw no playing time in the game.
