Forbes released a list of the ten most-disliked people in sports which included seven active players, two retired players, and one coach from Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Football League (NFL), the NCAA, the National Hockey League (NHL), ATP (Tennis), and the NBA.

The NBA had the most athletes on the list, but no one in the top four.  However, the NBA is featured in the next four slots of this infamous top-ten list (from #5-8).

Topping the the list for the NBA was Kobe Bryant at number five, followed by Allen Iverson at number six.

The only person that pollees disliked more than Stephon Marbury (#8), was his coach in New York, and former Detroit Pistons’ Bad Boy, Isiah Thomas (#7).

No surprise about Kobe Bryant, his reputation as “phony” and “selfish” endure even as he took home his fourth NBA championship.

It is odd, however, that Allen Iverson was #6 in such a recent poll.  AI hasn’t been significant, on or off the court, for nearly a year now.  Apparently, the respondents don’t forgive nor forget.

Isiah Thomas continues to mar his reputatin with his post-playing career.  From being blamed for the demise of the CBA, to ruining the Knicks, to being accused of racism and sexual harassment, “Zeke” can’t catch a break in the public eye.

And well… what can you say of Stephon Marbury?
