News & Notes Spurs Back on Track
- Dirk Nowitzki‘s 26 points and J.J. Barea‘s 22 points aren’t enough to fend off Carmelo Anthony’s season-high 43 points and the Denver Nuggets.
- San Antonio 111-98 L.A. Clippers: In his 2nd game back, Manu Ginobili hits for 14 points, 7 assists, and 3 steals in just 17 minutes. The Clips are good medicine for the ego. Tony Parker scores ONLY 18 points in the game; it’s the first game that Parker hasn’t reached 20 points in the last 11 games.
- Memphis ends 5 game skid behind Marc Gasol‘s 27 points and 5 boards in 36 minutes. Grizz defeats Kings 113-95.
- Pau Gasol just plain dominated the Nets, recording a season-high 36 points and adding 11 rebounds, and 7 assists in the Laker’s 103-95 win.
- Croatian rookie for the Toronto Raptors Roko Ukic has first double-digit assist game of his short NBA career, dishing out 10 assists in the Raptor’s 112-96 win over the Oklahoma Thunder.
- Marcin Gortat records his third double-double of season, 10 points and 11 rebounds, in Orlando Magic’s 110-94 win over Milwaukee Bucks.
- Terrence William’s Around the Back Rebound: WHOA. Sweet around the back rebound by Louisville’s Terrence Williams; he grabbed it, began to turn around midair, took the ball around the back before landing and going upcourt to start the fastbreak… Earl Clark finished the play with a three-pointer. Check out the 1:02 mark of the Louisville-Arizona video highlights.
- BACK/FORTH: Utah Jazz send rookie Kostas Koufos to Utah Flash/NBDL and recall Ukrainian center Kyrylo Fesenko for the umpteenth time.
- 6-10 center from Slovenia, Erazem Lorbek is Euroleague Playoff MVP for game 2 of the ULEB quarterfinals… http://tiny.cc/uleb2
- Remember Terrence Morris (Maryland), Lynn Greer (Temple), Louis Bullock (Michigan), and Terrell McIntyre (Clemson)? They’re all playing huge roles in the Euroleague playoffs. http://tiny.cc/uleb2
