Last year, the NBA released a creative commercial called “Dribbling the Bells” where NBA superstars Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Dwyane Wade, and Joe Johnson, dribbled to the tune of “The Carols of the Bells.”
In this year’s edition, the NBA’s current stars – Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Steph Curry, James Harden, Derrick Rose and Steve Nash – use their shooting skills to play jingle bells to promote their new jerseys with sleeves, or sleeved jerseys, or game shirts, or… This time by swishing jumpshots through basketball nets fashioned with bells. But was everything real? Of course not. It was green screen and it looks as though the sxi players weren’t even on the set at the same time. The above video goes into how the ad was actually created with some behind-the-scenes.
