It has been an offseason of new beginnings for the Detroit Pistons. With the acquisitions of free agents Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings, the Pistons are looking to usher in a new era of basketball. As a part of the overhaul aimed at bringing good basketball back to Detroit, the Pistons unveiled some new alternate uniforms that show the ultimate pride in the city. The new jerseys, which will debut next season, have Detroit’s nickname of “Motor City” on the front.
The alternate jerseys will be worn 10 times during the upcoming season, with the first time coming on November 3rd at home against the Boston Celtics. Greg Monroe was the first Pistons player to be shown in the new jersey.
Detroit is going through some difficult times currently, but the Pistons, as well as all the Detroit sports teams, hope to give the city some hope and joy when the season starts in a couple of months.
