The Lakers dropped their third straight game on Monday and Warriors big man David Lee added more injury to the insult.
Dwight Howard took a hard elbow from Lee during the second quarter of Los Angeles’ 109-103 loss to Golden State, but it was Howard who was called for the foul on Lee’s drive to the basket. Howard then received a technical for jawing with Lee after the play, feeling that the hit – which required Howard to have three stitches – was intentional. He was so steamed about it after the game, that he even called for future retaliation against Lee.
“He got away with a shot,” said Howard, according to Bleacher Report. “I will remember this game. I will remember that shot. He said he wasn’t trying to do it. You can look at the play and see it for yourself. I will take care of it later.”
Check out the clip above and let us know if you think it was intentional or not.
There has been no word on any potential discipline for either player, but with incendiary comments such as this coming from Howard, you can imagine that the league will at least look further into it.
The Lakers will try to get back on track Wednesday when they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
