  • With injuries to Tim Duncan (leg) and Manu Ginobili (ankle), Tony Parker has been completely unstoppable without them.  The 6-3 point guard from France has averaged 38 points, 10.5 assists, and 5 rebounds the last two games as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Mavericks 93-76, and the Portland Trailblazers 99-84.  “(Parker’s) leadership on the floor was exceptional.” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said after the defeating Portland.
  • Hedo Turkoglu pours in 33 points, his second-highest point total of the season,  in the Orlando Magic’s 114-109 win over the New York Knicks.
  • Marc Gasol has 22 points and 15 rebounds, his 12th double-double of the season, in the Grizzlie’s 104-99 loss to Indiana.  Pau Gasol‘s younger brother is a shoo-in for an NBA All-Rookie team selection.
  • Jose Calderon has shot 107-109 from the free throw line this season, an amazing 98.2%, and is on pace to break Calvin’s Murphy’s season record of 95.8%.  At this pace, Calderon can afford to miss 3, maybe 4 more free throws and still set a new NBA record.  Keep your eyes out for Calvin Murphy
  • Greivis Vasquez is ACC Player of the Week after his triple-double in an 88-85 overtime upset of #3 North Carolina. http://tinyurl.com/armeqp The honor has been given to Vasquez four times in his three-year college career, and twice this year.   Greivis fouled out with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in Maryland’s 78-67 loss to Duke last night.
