A cool new ad on for NBATickets.com plays off the old playground concept of choosing teams.
The ad starts off with a a gaggle of NBA players forming a long line when a nerdy-looking young man with an afro, glasses, a gray sweatshirt, and brown cordoroys walks up.
He begins to scans the roll call of players; with Dirk Nowitzki, Dwight Howard, Paul Pierce, Serge Ibaka, and Joakim Noah lined up as if they’re waiting to be picked.
He points at Al Horford of the Atlanta Hawks, making him his first pick. They exchange a fist bump. The kid then walks further down the line – Goran Dragic, Jrue Holiday, Chris Bosh… until he reaches Ricky Rubio, who is flashing a million-dollar smile and spinning a basketball on the tip of his index finger.
“I want to see them play the ‘Wolves,” choosing Rubio who throws the kid a behind-the-back pass before handing the kid a ticket to the game.
“It’s going to be a good game.” says the kid as images of the players not chosen – David Lee, Tyson Chandler, James Harden, and Blake Griffin – walk off the court dismayed.
