LeBron Criticized for Pregame Dunk Routine (VIDEO)

NBA fans have been begging LeBron James to enter the All-Star weekend slam dunk contest for years because they know he would put on a spectacular show, but year after year James refuses. Maybe it’s because he performs his own contest-worthy dunks before every Miami Heat game.

James has displayed his extraordinary dunking ability during several games this season, but recently he’s been taking things to new heights during pregame warm-ups, slamming down insane rim-rattling jams with creative moves in the lay-up line. Obviously, most fans at the games love it. They’ve even been getting to AmericanAirlines Arena earlier to see it for themselves, but of course, James’ pregame dunking exploits have garnered a significant amount of negative attention as well.

In fact, he’s received so much criticism for the warm-up dunks in recent weeks, that it’s caused him to consider nixing them from his pregame routine. He certainly enjoys doing them, but if some fans continue to voice their displeasure about him not performing in the All-Star game, then no one will get to see them at all.

“Maybe I should stop because it’s making a lot of people mad about what I do,” James said, according to Yahoo!Sports, after Tuesday’s double-overtime win against the Sacramento Kings. “They’re like, ‘Well, if you can do it in warm-ups, why don’t you [want to] be in the dunk contest?’ Stop it.’ “

It would be a real shame if James had to curtail his pregame dunks. Everyone would love to see him in the dunk contest, but fans also need to respect the man’s wishes if that’s not something he wants to do.
