Wisconsin Shocks #3 Michigan in Overtime-Unranked Wisconsin knocked off its Big Ten rival Michigan 65-62 in overtime on Saturday when Ben Burst drained a three-pointer with less than 40 seconds left in OT. The loss marked Michigan’s third of the year and will prevent the Wolverines from climbing back to the nation’s top ranking (CBS Sports).

Notre Dame Outlasts Louisville in Five Overtimes-The Wisconsin-Michigan came down to the wire, but it wasn’t the only college game on Saturday that went into an extra frame. In fact, Notre Dame and Louisville played a whole other half of basketball as they intensely battled for five overtime periods, finally ending in victory for the Fighting Irish by a score of 104-101. Several players ended up playing more than 50 minutes and ND’s Eric Atkins logged more than 60 minutes in the win (NBC Sports).

Nets and Bobcats Discussing Trade-The Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Bobcats are reportedly discussing a possible trade that would send Kris Humphries to Charlotte for Ben Gordon. According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, the teams have been in an ongoing discussion since at least Friday, but no deal is imminent as of this time. The teams have until the Feb. 21 deadline to complete a deal (Sporting News).

Nuggets Beat Cavs, Extend Win Streak to Nine Games-The Denver Nuggets stayed hot Saturday night, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 111-103 to extend their win streak to nine games, which is the longest streak the franchise has enjoyed in the post-Carmelo Anthony era. As winners of 15 of their last 17, the Nuggets are a team to look out for as we enter the latter part of the regular season (Sports Illustrated).


Jason Richardson Out For Season-Philadelphia 76ers guard Jason Richardson will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury that requires surgery. In 33 games started with the team he was averaging 10.5 points per game. He had missed the past eight games with the injury and on Friday, the team decided he needed surgery (New York Times).
