If that does not speak of talent.. i don't know what does
The problem with the rookie camp is that they are not playing against organized/established defenses. One on one skills will stand out, but coaches would want to know if you are really good at following complex offensive patterns (harmony with your teammates).

The teams will further evaluate these rookies by inviting them to private workouts with their own players.

          • So Gallent got what he wanted thats a big if the bosses gave him an ultimatum

All filipino perhaps...but still bmeg would be bmeg they would still rely on their defense to complement their free flowing offense

Barroca might be their choice. They have enough bigs in their roster.

Active Player? si Rico sana. But I doubt. so it's either Allado or the 2 future picks. (wooaah Allado + Ritualo for shopinas circa 2000 for DLSU)

This is not actually a MOCK DRAFT, this is based on my interview with COACHES and MANAGEMENT of teams.

                    1.) POWERADE - JV CASIO
2.) RAIN OR SHINE - PAUL LEE
                    3.) BARAKO - MARCIO LASSITER
                    4.) POWERADE - MAC BARACAEL
                    5.) ???????? - MARK BARROCA ,-)

NOTE: If POWERADE will pick LASSITER, ROS still PAUL LEE BARAKO will get CASIO
                    and

POWERADE financed the trip to Manila of JULIUS PASCULADOS to MANILA to join DRAFT. GOV JB BAYLON says if other teams will DRAFT him. They'll just ask for reimbursement. "Nakita namin may potential, so we helped him", says BAYLON. He currently stays at one of the TIGERS' rented units.

                    • 2011 PBA mock draft, version 2.0
Reynaldo Belen and Jaemark Tordecilla, with Mikkel Bolante, InterAKTV

In version 1.0 of our mock draft, we were just surveying the horizon, scanning the talent, and putting down our thoughts. Since posting that, we’ve spoken to coaches, players, team insiders, and agents to try to get a feel of how Sunday’s draft will go.

                      1. Powerade – Jayvee Casio

We asked Powerade coach Bo Perasol directly which player his team was picking: Jayvee Casio or Paul Lee.

Here was his reply: “It’s no secret that Gary David is the only go-to-guy in the team and we need somebody who can help him out or probably makes him better. We have yet to identify it yet, but Paul Lee showed what he can do. We have yet to see Jayvee Casio as he is still injured, but gauging from his performance and the mere fact that he submitted himself in the draft makes him a strong contender.”

                      2. Rain or Shine – Paul Lee

We’ve been hearing that if Powerade takes Casio, Rain or Shine is ready to snag the Cobra Commander, which would fulfill Lee’s destiny to play for Yeng Guiao and become Willie Thriller 2.0.

                      3. Barako Bull – Marcio Lassiter

The Barako Bull brain trust is high on Lassiter, Chris Lutz, and Mac Baracael. But if needed to make the choice, they are going with Lassiter, especially with questions on Dondon Hontiveros’ future with the franchise.

                      4. Powerade – Chris Lutz

People inside Powerade think that Lutz can play the small forward position in the PBA, so that he can run alongside Gary David. If they end up with Casio and Lutz, that would be one explosive trio. But who’ll get their rebounds?

                      5. B-MEG – Mark Barroca

The decision of the PBA to award the 5th pick back to B-MEG threw a wrinkle to plans of many teams; there were indications that Shopinas.com, which had earlier owned the pick, was thinking of taking Dylan Ababou at this spot, which would have been the first shocker of the draft.

Instead, it looks like it’s going to be a reunion between Barroca and his Harbour Centre coaches Jorge Gallent and Richard del Rosario at the Llamados.

                      6. Alaska – Mac Baracael

Honestly, we were kind of hoping to see Barroca in an Alaska uniform; Tim Cone has a good track record with small, athletic guards from FEU. But the consolation prize wouldn’t be so bad for the master of the triangle offense. Unlike most recent Alaska draftees, Baracael is ready to crack the Aces’ rotation as soon as he comes in.

                      7. Talk ‘N Text – Dylan Ababou

Although insiders from the Tropang Texters like Jason Ballesteros, we keep hearing that this pick is going to be traded, in exchange for future draft picks. It seems like sound strategy for an already-stacked Talk ‘N Text team that will be welcoming Japeth Aguilar next season. Perhaps Franz Pumaren could get his guy at this spot?

                      8. Petron Blaze – Allein Maliksi

We know that Petron is interested in a scorer, but if Ababou is off the board, then they might go with Maliksi. Either way, it’ll be a UST Tigers reunion with Petron Blaze assistant coach Pido Jarencio.

                      9. Barangay Ginebra – Reil Cervantes

We’re hearing that there’s real interest from the Ginebra braintrust — we were going to use the term “coaches,” but the setup isn’t clear yet right now — in Cervantes. The barangay can breathe a sigh of relief now that they know their favorite team isn’t picking a guard.

                      10. Barako Bull – Jason Ballesteros

At this point, Ballesteros is the best prospect left on the board, and he should be able to come in and help immediately for a Barako team that only counts on Dorian Pena to man the shaded lane.

                      11. Shopinas.com – Ken Acibar

The Clickers want a young, energetic team, and Acibar fits that description to a T. We’re intrigued to know just how well Acibar will develop under coach Franz Pumaren and his big man coach, Tonichi Yturri.

                      12. Talk ‘N Text – Julius Pasculado

Again, we’re hearing that this pick will be traded. Pasculado has been turning some heads in the draft, so he can be an option for teams looking for a sleeper. The Filipino-American guard has the best YouTube highlights of any prospect in the draft except, well, Brian Ilad.

                      13. Alaska – Pamboy Raymundo

There are indications that Alaska will be trading a couple of their second round picks — they own four — and it could go to a team looking at Raymundo, a former San Sebastian guard who has turned some heads in the camps.

                      14. Alaska – Ariel Mepaña

We have a hard time imagining Alaska not taking at least a look at Mepaña, a rugged banger from Cebu who played for Aces assistant coach Luigi Trillo in the PBA D-League.

                      15. Alaska – Eric Salamat

If Alaska keeps this pick, Salamat might be an intriguing choice for them; he’s the anti-Bonbon Custodio — not particularly athletic or exciting, but always plays in control.

                      16. B-MEG – Magi Sison

He is 6-foot-7, but we have a hard time seeing him moving up on the board.

                      17. Alaska – Gilbert Bulawan

Another banger who might end up with another team if Alaska trades the pick.

                      18. Barangay Ginebra – James Martinez

Jai Reyes jokes aside, we think Martinez might be an upgrade over fellow UE alumnus Rob Labagala.

                      19. Barako Bull – Mark Cagoco

                      20. Barako Bull – Brian Ilad

                      21. Talk ‘N Text – Mark Agustin

We’re just kidding. But we’re hearing that if Talk ‘N Text can’t trade this pick, they’re likely to pass.

The 2011 PBA Draft will be broadcast on AKTV on IBC-13 on Sunday, August 28, at 7 p.m.
