Check out this complete list of NCAA athletes that are eligible to play for Nigeria, it's a mixture of athletes born in Nigeria and athletes born abroad, what do you all think ?
Oyedeji is still in the UK without a job.
Archibong, Ugboaja, Oruche and the injured Tony Skinn are also still without a team. Seems like the Olympics did not help to secure a better job.
Those players you mentioned without a job played limited minutes in the Olympics, all the main guys got offered very good contracts, even Oguchi earned trials for NBA teams but did not make it, he is now in the D league
Alade Aminu - Now in Turkey
Dagunduro - Now in Italy from Belgium but currently injured
Diogu - In China, he didnt get signed by the Phoenix Suns
Ibekwe - Now in Spain from Germany
Obasohan - In France, played in Latin America last year
So you can see that the main guys got better deals from last year.
They are: Abubakar Usman, Matthew Onmonya (both Kano Pillars), Stanley Gumut, Michael Ohiero, Andulwahab Yahaya (all Mark Mentors), Mohammed Baba Shehu (Niger Potters), Victor James Ugo, Nkem Ojougboh (both Comets), Azuoma Dike (Dodan Warriors), Louis Edem Ekpeyong (Union Bank), Kayode Balogun (Islanders) and Victor Atisele (Royal Hoopers).
The team has ended their initial training camp in Abuja. Now, Ayo Bakare will select three from the training pool to join the other Nigerian players who are currently abroad.

15 players have been selected to participate in the Stankovic Cup in China, they will meet in LA before flying out to China, after the tournament, they will regroup for a final camp in Texas with additional players before the final roster is selected. Very good to see NCAA athletes make the initial list like Stan Okoye, Jamal Olasewere, Deji Egbeyemi and Ehimen Orukpe.

The Nigerian Senior Men’s basketball team otherwise known as D’Tigers have regrouped ahead of their training program in preparation for the 2013 Afrobasket due to take place in Ivory Coast in August. In a press report released by the NBBF, the Coaching Staff have called on 15 players to participate in the second phase of the training program which will include a friendly tour of China at the Stankovich Continental Cup. The team is scheduled to be hosted in the two Chinese cities of Lanzhou and Guanzhou from 26th June-10th July before heading back to the U.S for the final phase of the program. Some players have been excused from the second phase to sort out various contractual issues and will join the rest team at the final training camp.
Ike Diogu and Olumide Oyedeji will captain the squad in China while former Nigerian Junior Internationals Solomon Alabi, Ehimen Orukpe and Ayodeji Egbeyemi will be making their debut for the Senior team. The team is headlined by former NBA guard Ben Uzoh, while there is also a place in the squad for Kingsley Oguchi who is the younger brother of Senior International Chamberlain, Big South Player of the Year Stan Okoye will also be looking to establish himself within the Nigerian camp.
“It’s an honor to be invited to play with the Nigerian team. This is something that I’ve always wanted to do. It means a lot to my family, and will definitely be a great experience, I look forward to an intense training camp and getting better over that period of time” – Stan Okoye stated to TNB.
TNB will continue to bring you the latest updates as the team gets ready for Ivory Coast.
Full List.
Kelechi Anuna – 6’4 – PG – Stade Nabeulein (Tunisia – D1)
Mike Ohiero – 6’3 – PG – Markmentors (Nigeria – DSTV Premier League)
Ben Uzoh – 6’3 – PG – Springfield Armor (NBA D-League)

It looks a little different. To begin there are 13 players on one list and 15 on another. Then the Sina site has a "Michael Eric", where as the roster provided by rotela has these 3 names: "Kelechi Anuna" "Ehimen Orukpe" and "Kingsley Oguchi" not found on the sina site.
These are the 11 players who played in the Stankovic Cup 2013:
Kelechi Anuna
Mike Ohiero
Deji Egbeyemi
Richard Oruche
Abubakar Usman
Stanley Gumut
Stan Okoye
Yahaya Abdul
Nkem Ojougboh
Olumide Oyedeji
Andy Ogide
Ogide wasn't on the initial list, he was added later to the squad. Alabi was training with the team in LA but he got injured and he won't play in the Afrobasket. Diogu is playing in the BSN playoffs right now, I guess he will join the team later. I have no idea about Ben Uzoh, Kinsgley Oguchi and Ehimen Orukpe.
Not sure about how the final roster will look like. I guess half of the team would be different.
You mentioned players that would have gotten these jobs anyway, even without the Olympics. The only player really that really got a better job is Ibekwe. The rest is more than less on the same level, well maybe Oguchi earned way more with his latest stints in Russia and Spain thanks to his one great game in the Olympics.
Oruche did not play anywhere again, same goes for Archibong and Ugboaja. Oyedeji is finally in Japan, good for him.
Ugboaja is lately bashing Bakare and wont be playing this summer for D'Tigers.
[AfroBasket 2013] - NGR: Start of the last stage of preparation in Orlando
Nigeria senior men national team, D’Tigers has begun it final preparation ahead the 27th Africa Cup of Nations – Afrobasket slated for August 20-31 in Abidjan Cote d’Ivoire in Orlando, United States of America.
The camp which has most players that represented the FIBA Africa Zone-III nation at the London 2012 Olympic Games held in London is being supervised by head coach, Ayo Bakare.
According to a release from the secretariat of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) hinted that players such as team captain Olumide Oyedeji, Alade and Al Farouk Aminu, Ike Diogu, Derrick Obasohan, Chamberlain Oguchi, Mike Umeh, Andy Ogide, Stan Okoye, Stanley Gumut and Abdulwahab Yahaya are already in camp alongside other notable players.
Coach Bakare will be joined by other home-based players and the team assistant coaches.
The team is currently in Florida where they will play a three game series against Venezuela, they lost the first game 82-86. As everyone here has noticed, the squad list is a bit all over the place right now, new additions to the tour of Florida that played in the first Venezuelan game are Jamal Olasewere, Michael Eric, Churchill Odia, Ben Uzoh (who was in LA but didnt go to China) and Kingsley Oguchi (Chamberlain's younger brother). Yahaya Abdul and Stanley Gumut are the only home-based players that made the Florida camp (which is meant to be the last training camp before Afrobasket) - Players still expected are Ike Diogu, Derrick Obasohan, Michael Umeh, Alade Aminu (dont think his brother is playing this year). There has been also talks of Gani Lawal joining the team.
So essentially the team in camp right now are
Ben Uzoh
Kingsley Oguchi
Stan Okoye
Jamal Olasewere
Michael Eric
Olumide Oyedeji
Stanley Gumut
Abdul Yahaya
Churchill Odia
I will update you guys if anyone else attends camp.
