No news regarding Al Farouq Aminu, Obasohan, Umeh and Diogu.
Al Farouq and Ike Diogu have joined the team as well. Obasohan is out.
Richard Oruche and Gani Lawal are there too. I have no idea about the final roster though.

Today the NT is flying from NY to Lagos.

      • This team looks very strong. I think they are the main contender to win the whole tournament. Aminu+Uzoh+Diogu+Lawal all with past in the NBA. WOW!
In my opinion tomorrow Mali will have no chances to compete.

This team will have trouble winning anything if they can't knock down threes. Mali clocked the paint and Nigeria where helpless for a long time. Aminu made it happen with his pure talent.

            • Something is happened with Oguchi. It's a big blow. Oruche is injured also. The solutions to the backcourt are shortened. And that thing with Obashohan is very strange. He is not with the team, that is for sure.

                • - Injury hit the squad again as Andy Ogide left the game in what looked like a knee injury, he joins Richard Oruche who fractured his foot in the first game and is out for the remainder of the tournament.

                  - There is still a lot of confusion surrounding Chamberlain Oguchi’s status for the tournament, he did not play again for the second time, and officials mentioned that there seem to be an issue with his registration. It should be noted that Derrick Obasohan’s name appears on the official FIBA site, and at this time, it looks like Obasohan might be replacing Oguchi, but time will tell.

hello there maam(as far as i know ) Serge Ibaka is of Congolese origin right? Imagine if he weren't naturalized. He may be a big difference since some here say that Nigeria definitely rely on their inside game.

                    • Obasohan is not with the team, that's for sure indeed as he was playing yesterday a friendly in France (and gave his team the win with a near buzzer beater):

Now, I don't see anything illogical with his absence. He has barely played this past year (in Cholet) and seemingly has declined so much that he just signed a 2-year deal with Monaco ...a 3rd division team of France.

                      • There is an update about Oguchi. He is not injured, but there is a short of ban. It has to do with Spanish club he played, Canaria, Nigerian Federation and FibaAfrica.

That's true but according to some rumors, Obasohan is on his way to Abidjan to join the rest of the squad. He hasn't been present in any of the preparation's stages so far.

Oruche is out due to injury, Ogide is injured as well and Okoye is facing problems too. If Nigeria fails to qualify for the WC, all the blame should go to Bakare for calling just one pure PG.

Okoye is bad beyond "problems" anyway Even during the low-end Stankovic Cup he was disappointing. That's why he signed with Kallitheas, actually...
