    "(by Mohammed Malas)

After seeing the first 3 rounds of the Jordanian Premier League (JPL) Elite Group, I can share the suggestion of many spectatos and specialists in the country about the initial roster which diserve to be called-up for the Jordanian National Team camp next april under the coaching of Mario Leonel Palma and his assistants Mario Gomes and Ruslan Soobzokov .

One of the 1st 3 places in the next Asian Championship (Tianjin 6-16 August) is the target for the coaching staff who will try to have the chemistry needed in order to appear in the best image for the Jordanian Basketball..

    - The Suggested players are:

    # From ASU Sports Club:
    Zeid Abbas (203-F-83)
    Islam Abbas (201-C-80)
    Ahmed Hamarsheh (202-F-86)
    Eyad Abdeen (202-F-79)
    Nidal Shareef (190-G-82)

    # From Al Riyadi Amman:
    Wesam Sous (181-G-83)
    Malek Khashan (185-G-85)
    Issa Kamel (192-F-83)

    # From Zain:
    Moussa Al Awadi (190-G/F-85)
    Mohammad Hamdan (201-F-84)
Sam Daghlas (197-G-79, college: Midwestern St.)
Enver Soobzokov (193-G/F-78, college: Cal.St.-San Bernar.)
Zaid Al Khas (205-C-76, college: Gannon)
Jamal Ma'aytah (213-C-81, agency: Passing Lane, college: Greensboro)
    Khaldon Abo Rukayeah (198-F-83)
Francis Ireifej (186-G-82, college: Point Loma)

    # From Orthodox:
    Louay Obeidi (198-F/G-90)
Ayman Idais (205-C-78, agency: Court Side)
    Ibrahim Bassam (204-C-87)
    Mahmoud Abdeen (186-G-87)

Adding the mentioned above, The naturalized shooting guard Rasheim Wright (193-G-81, college: District of Col.) must have another chance to appear again with the national team to join the other players abroad who they're Jamal Abu-Shamala (196-G/F-87) 'University Of Minesotta (NCAA)' and Imad Qahwash (188-G-87) 'Central Arkansas (NCAA)".

    Thanks for the Thread Khalid

Jordan are going to have big preperations from the begining of May....

The national team will play under the name of Zain Club in Asian Clubs Championship and players...

There will be a campo in China on May adding to a tournament which Italy "B" National Team hold each year....Iran and China participated in it before....

William Jones Cup is also in the preperations agenda with a better King Abdullah Tournament (On July) this year with some better teams.,.....

Jordan will try this year to do something at least to be a strong number in the next asian championship in China.

    - The best roster for Jordan in my opinion is:

    Point Guards:
Sam Daghlas (197 cm, 1979, Zain)
Francis Ireifej (188 cm, 1982, Zain)
Imad Qahwash (188 cm, 1987, Central Arkansas "NCAA") Or Fadel Najjar (194 cm, 1985, Zain)

    Shooting Guards:
Moussa Al Awadi (190 cm, 1985, Zain)
Jamal Abu-Shamala (197 cm, 1987, University of Minnesota "NCAA")

    Small Forwards:
Zeid Abbas (203 cm, 1983, ASU Sports Club)
Louay Obeidi (198 cm, 1990, Orthodox) "Jordan's Future"
Mohammad Hamdan (201 cm, 1984, Zain)

    Power Forwards:
Zaid Al Khas (205 cm, 1976, Zain) "Team Captain"
Islam Abbas (201 cm, 1980, ASU Sports Club)

    Centers:
Ayman Idais (205 cm, 1978, Orthodox)
Ibrahim Bassam (207 cm, 1987, Orthodox) "Big talent with huge body"

There may be a naturalized player on the Center position, Rasheim Wright will stay as a stand-by...

Hope the best for all the teams....It's going to be tough for everyone...

I'm a bit confused with this new tournament, are the teams going straight to the said FIBA-Asia or are we all going to pass qualifyers. Am looking at the FIBA Calendar of events, there is a WABA Qualifyer but there is no specific scheduled date or there is designated host country.

Our team is also deep in training but we're confused as we also do not know if there's still a SEABA Qualifyer or are we going straight to the tournament proper.

Ha it is not sure if there is a qualifier? if only few teams participating maybe straight but I think in sea maybe 4 teams will have a team(RP, Malaysia, thailand,Indonesia) so "baka may" qualifier.O the heads of fiba asia in Malaysia is just confusing us
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
                          1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

"NT's time begins (by Mohammed Malas)

After the end of the 2008/2009 JPL's season, The eyes will be turned now the preperations of Zain and ASU Sports Club for the 22nd Arab Clubs Championship (Beirut, Lebanon 'April 25 - May 6').

On the same track, Zain and National Team head coach Mario Leonel Palma and his assistants will try to utilize the arabic event and the 20th Asian Clubs Championship (Jakarta, Indonesia 'May 12 - 20') to begin the plan of the National Team for the upcoming events esspecially the 25th FIBA Asia Championship (Tianjin, China 'August 6 - 16) which will give the qualification to 3 National Teams in Asia to represent the continent in the World Cup 'Turkey 2010'.

The main plan is that the National team will be playing under the name of Zain in those two big clubs events in order to be in the form needed by the NT's coaching staff before facing the bigger tests along the summer including camps and friendly tournaments, ASU's players Zeid Abbas (203-F-83) and Islam Abbas (201-C-80) will join Zain directly after the end of their commitment with their team in the Arab Clubs Championship, While Wesam Sous (181-G-83), Ayman Idais (205-C-78, agency: Court Side) and Ibrahim Bassam will begin trainings immediately, Still nothing clear about the arrival date of the NCAA's players Jamal Abu-Shamala (196-G/F-87) and Imad Qahwash (188-G-87) but most probably will be in May.

Another objective for the near future is searching for a pure 5 center to naturalize him, The Jordanian Basketball Federation (JBF) has some names on hand but still looking for the best options until their last decision which must be made very soon, The current american naturalized player for the NT Rasheim Wright (193-G-81, agency: Huss Sport Agency, college: District of Col.) is now Amman awaiting to find the solution of his release clearance from TTNET Beykozspor Club in Turkey in order to play with Zain in the Asian Clubs Championship, FIBA will be involved to this case to search for a possible agreement between all parties but this will not affect on Wright's appearance with Jordna NT in case no other naturalized player got involved for some reasons".
