Rik is this thread just for the tallest players that are currently alive or can we include names even if they passed away?
And what about players that have dual nationalities?
I don't think that there is a taller bball player for Haiti than:
Samuel Dalembert 211 cm (But since he played with Canada I don't know if he can be considered as Haitian)
If Dalembert doesn't make it then u can consider:
Olden Polynice who is also 211 cm and from Haiti
I found this concerning Paraguay :
Arnoldo Penzkofer 212 cm (Unfortunately he passed away a few months ago )
As for Sri Lanka it's:
Eric Obeysekere 203 cm (He's listed as 6'8 which is 203 cm)
For Dominica it's:
Garth Joseph 218 cm (I think he's currently playing in Egypt after he left Saba Battery in Iran)
For Mexico I found:
Horacio Llamas 213 cm (I'm not sure he's the tallest. Maybe Mojado can help us confirm this )
For Israel:
Constantin Popa 222 cm (Whom is Romanian-Israeli)
As for African Nations:
Senegal: (Damn there r too many tall players that play there and alot of them have N'Daye as their family name. They're probably all related )
The 2 tallest players that I could find from there are:
1) Youssoupha Mbao 216 cm (Plays in the ACB)
2) Cheikh Samb 216 cm (NBA player with the Clippers)
Cameroon:
The tallest player that I could find info about was (There might be a taller player from there that I'm not aware of):
Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje 213 cm
Mali:
Soumaila Samake 213 cm / some other sources claim it as 215 cm (Currently playing in the Chinese League CBA)

Regarding the nationality issue, I think each case has its own peculiarities. I think Dalembert is Canadian, since he lived in Haiti just until 14. Popa is definitely Romanian, he only has Israeli citizenship because of his wife (and he played in Israel of course).
For Senegal no-one beats Sidibe I'm afraid

@ Khalid80: Thanks for the link. I searched a bit and those Canadians they mention are all below 2.10, I don't know what was their source. BTW I pity a guy whose last name is Schwantz
As for Italian Jon Harris some sources say he was born in Italy and say he played for that club Empedocle, but those facts aren't proved, nor is his height (he is more known as a wrestler, I'm sure his height became exaggerated).Last edited by rikhardur; 01-10-2009, 09:52 PM.
