C/O 2010 verbal commit Tyler Lamb, along with a Mater Dei teammate, were subjected to racist heckling and taunts throughout their game @ Servite HS last Friday. Behavior by the Servite students was stated to include "monkey noises" and questions regarding the parentage of Lamb and teammate Gary Franklin throughout the game.

I am not one to crack down on booing/heckling, even at the HS level, but this is just wrong. Not sure what was in these student's minds, but clearly their parents still have work to do (as well as to watch less European soccer).
where did you get this news??

Servite HS has a lot of Asian American students and its a christian school..

Won't preclude them from being racists, I'm afraid.

Its a CATHOLIC SCHOOL, not a CHRISTIAN school. In the states, only a few are CATHOLIC SCHOOLS like SERVITE. MAJORITY are CHRISTIANN SCHOOLS bec they are a PROTESTANT country.

Because if it was a Christian school that mater dei fought, im sure there would be no racist cheerers. If it was a catholic school, which it was, then i wont be surprised if there were racists.

                    • Anyways, on to the topic. (That's not to say what happened to these two boys is not worth discussing; it is most deplorable and I can only sympathise with them. The teachers need to do more teaching and the parents more parenting. School or game officials should have halted the game or put a stop to the heckling. They owe these two kids an unreserved, and publicised, apology; and that includes the coaching staff of Mater Dei who accompanied these two kids to the game and who failed to do anything about the whole shameful incident.)

Marshall's Chris Lutz to represent Philippine National Basketball Team

Marshall University men’s basketball player Chris Lutz (Sr., Bedford, N.H., Purdue Univ., Brewster Prep) has joined the Smart Gilas Pilipinas national team. Lutz earned his spot on the national team after completing a training camp last Spring in Las Vegas, Nev. for overseas players with Filipino roots. Lutz’s mother Luzviminda is of Filipino descent.

The 6-4 guard led Marshall in made three-pointers (65) and three-point percentage (.374) a year ago. He finished fourth in Conference USA in three-point percentage and was seventh in the league in made three-point field goals per game (2.32). Lutz was second on the team in scoring (10.7) and ended up 26th in C-USA in the category. A business management major, Lutz, scored a career high 37 points against Tulane last season (34 in the second half). Lutz’s performance was the most by a Herd player since Ronald Blackshear scored 40 at East Michigan in 2003.

“We hope (Lutz) will be the answer to our need for a pure shooter in the team,” said Samahang Basketboling Pilipinas (SBP) executive director Noli Eala in the Aug. 4 edition of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
“We are excited for Chris,” said Marshall Head Coach Donnie Jones. “We know how hard he worked to (earn this) opportunity to represent his heritage and where his family is from.”

Under head coach Rajko Toroman (who coached Iran to the 2008 Olympics), Lutz will look to help Smart Gilas earn 1-of-3 2012 Olympic Spots that are up for grabs during the 2011 FIBA-Asia Championship.

Lutz’s first action for the national team comes Aug. 6-16 when the team participates in the FIBA-Asia Championships in Tianjin, China.

Coach Toroman is one heck of a coach. Is it true that your national coach is into politics? Maybe that's why your basketball team lost because politicians in your country handle your sports...

Yes Yeng is a stupid Politician in line with our stupid midget President..and both are traditional politicians..
Yeng was thinking of running for Governor in his province Pampanga! that is why he is not fit to coach the Naional Team.... and honestly some politicians like Pichay and Villafuerte wanted to take over on SBP for their up coming campaign for 2010 election...stupid right? but its true
