Celtics re-sign backup swingman Marquis Daniels
Posted Jul 26 2010 6:27PM
BOSTON (AP) -- The Boston Celtics have re-signed swingman Marquis Daniels.
The team announced Monday that it had signed the 6-foot-6 Daniels after his disappointing first season with the club. The seven-year veteran missed 28 games with a torn ligament in his left thumb that required surgery and averaged a career-low 5.6 points in 51 games.
In the Celtics' last 25 games, Daniels sat out two, scored two points seven times and was held scoreless six times.
He played in only 11 of the team's 24 playoff games and just two of the seven games for a total of 4 minutes, 21 seconds in the NBA finals won by the Los Angeles Lakers. In 2008-09 he averaged career-highs of 13.6 points and 4.6 rebounds in 54 games with the Indiana Pacers.

Any news on the potential signing of Luke Harangody? I want to see him on a Celtic jersey next season. He is a more athletic and rebounding version of Brian Scalabrine. Not to mention younger.Last edited by CKR13; 07-28-2010, 07:25 AM.Sacramento Kings

NBA Retrospective: Sam Jones
Sam Jones
Speak of number 24 and alot of people would say Kobe Bryant but 4 decades before KB24 there was Sam Jones Boston Celtics' number 24 clutch shooter and master of the bank shots where Sam Jones bailed the Celtics Dynasty on a number of times through his shooting and scoring.
On Celtics lore it is said: "On defense, we had Russell. But on offense we had Sam Jones." One more thing about Sam Jones is that he has 10 championship rings.Sacramento Kings

The Celtics and rookie draft pick Luke Harangody are closing in on a deal according to a source close to Danny Ainge.
After rookie draft pick Avery Bradley signed weeks ago, I was expecting that it was just a matter of time before Harangody signs.Sacramento Kings

Rajon Rondo playing for Team USA though noble seems like a risky proposition for the team heading for training camp early in October. Rondo could suffer an injury or just plain too tired for the 2010-2011 season.
Rondo was a catalysts for the Celtic's strong run on the 2010 NBA Playoffs and no doubt Rondo will be more depended upon next season as the aging Big 3 may no longer sustain the 2008 night-in and night-out form plus Kendrick Perkins is out until December where it is crucial for the Celtics to make a strong start to sustain momentum heading into the playoffs where no less than a championship is a disappointment.Sacramento Kings

The Boston Celtics will host the Miami Heat on opening night of the NBA for the NBA 2010-2011 Season.
What could be a Eastern Conference Finals clash, the Big Three of the Celtics will face the new Big Three on the block with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade has a score to settle with the Celtics with Wade's Miami HEAT being ousted by the Celtics on the 1st round of the NBA Finals 4-1 while James' Cleveland Cavaliers on which they were favorites to emerge on top of the Eastern Conference, were ousted in 6 games by the Celtics.
Now it will be more interesting if Shaquille O'neal signs with the Celtics as O'neal will face his former team and so too will Jermaine O'neal being a Miami Heat member last season and now in a Celtics jersey. Eddie House is now with the HEAT and will be faced with the same intriguing sub-plot.
Interesting Stuff.Sacramento Kings
