Maximum salaries for PBA players are P350,000 per month. For imports its US$30,000 per month.

In the PBL, the maximum allowance (not salary) is P40,000 per month.

      For added info:

The maximum salary cap for players in the PBA is P32M with a maximum roster of 14 players.

The Import salaries may look impressive, but imports do get to play only a couple of months, maybe 2-3 months.

But I think they do also get other incentives, like bonuses, free board & lodging, plane tickets, etc.

it still depends on the quality of their games. imports usually contracted at a minimum of $30k but it will tend to go higher than that once the team move into every phase of the tournament. for example:
                elimination-$30k
                quarterfinals - $40k
                semifinals - $50k
                finals - $60k

this is still exclusive of other perks and bonuses plus if the team win's the championship and the import wins best import award is also an added perk.

Actually $30K is the max for imports, not the minimum. Teams though give won game bonuses for players so imports can easily earn an amount exceeding the max since bonuses aren't computed against the salary cap.

Plus, $30K is already a big amount. Ex-NBA players like Torraye Braggs and Tony Lang all played here several years ago for $20K only. Only truly exceptional players would probably be given the max $30K.

well, yeah, probably but as far as i know, they are getting more than that that's why most imports like to play here again when they are called up for another tour of duty.

i heard that the PBA cut down the salaries of imports going here to range of $20k to $14k.. thats why the quality of imports going here is not as high as it use to be...

                            Hawke,

As has been discussed above, the Salary cap for imports has moved from $20K to $14K to $12K and now up to $30K per month for the upcoming import reinforced conference.

I don't think that's true. When the PBA dropped the salary to $14K per month and later $12K, imports that they were signing for $20K suddenly decided not to return. Braggs and Lang, two examples I cited above, never again returned to the PBA after the salary cut.

Some imports even decided to play instead in other countries like South Korea (where imports are hired at $20K) or China instead. And that's considering the fact that imports here are much better pampered (free lodging, transpo, etc) than imports in other countries.

Another thing, how can imports receive more than the $30K rate as you stated when that new maximum rate will only apply in the import conference of 2008?
