Default Dusan Ivkovic named Euroleague legend

Euroleague Basketball is proud to announce that Dusan Ivkovic, as he ends a remarkable career that has seen him walk the sidelines in five different decades, will be honored on Wednesday, Sept. 20, in Greece as the first head coach to be chosen for the distinction of Euroleague Basketball Legend. Coach Ivkovic, 73, is stepping down from an unprecedented 48-year career on the bench by coaching one last game in which an all-star team of his former players will face Olympiacos Piraeus, the club that he led to two Turkish Airlines EuroLeague titles. He joins players Dimitris Diamantidis, Sarunas Jasikevicius, Juan Carlos Navarro, Theo Papaloukas, Ramunas Siskauskas and Mirsad Turkcan as recipients of the award.

A beautiful game, the all star team coached by Ivkovic won against Oly 111-103. Novak Djokovic was present and he had a lot of fun, he managed to pronounce some greek words!

Ivkovic is one of the greatest coaches of all time, he won 28 titles!

In my opinion the most important one was Oly's first Euroleague. After the finals lost by Ioannides the team was quite depressed but his formidable psychological work managed to overcome every obstacle.

Siskauskas and Turkcan are weak entries.
