Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

              Please Lord

To our FIBA academicians here, any precedent where a player played for another National team at youth level but changed nationality and still considered as local?

I think Kazzouh of Lebanon is of the same case, played for Australian youth team but I think also included in the pool of Lebanon for this years FIBA Asia cup. Josegully as compromise.....

Probably his birth certificate was passed to Philippine embassy almost right after birth.

If you see him live you see a fusion of ping and rdo..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..

whats interesting for me is Standhardinger's citizenship, its not dual citizenship like the case of norbert torres/gabe norwood/matt wright. it is only phi citizen, meaning his status is local player ?

“Hindi ko na inaano ‘yun (mapasama sa pool) eh,” Santos said. “Kung susumahin mo ang buhay naming mga player, ‘san ba talaga ang first priority namin, ‘di ba? Ang first priority ko, dahil dito ko nakuha lahat ng kagandahan ng buhay ko at para sa pamilya ko, ang San Miguel. Alam naman ng lahat ‘yun. Ito ang dapat kong paglingkuran.”

German sports federations are known to be generous in terms of releasing players with foreign descent to other countries. Best example would be former Bundesliga player Stephan Schrock who played for one of the German youth teams. The German football federation even gave the PFF access to their player database which will allow them to search for potential talents with Pinoy ancestry.

It's not surprising if the German basketball federation will show similar leniency.

Until we hear an official pronouncement from SBP that he is Hagop eligible it is better not to keep our hopes up.
