    Easier said than done.

Let us break down the usual practice skeds. Collegiate squads usually practice in the morning. Add the academic schedule of these student-athletes are from afternoon to late evening. Gilas senior team practices usually late afternoon to evening.

There is no time unless you are in your 4th to 5th year where you have less academic load.

The Baltazars, Carinos and Aquinos are not physically ready. Hindi nga ma dislodge ni Baltazar sila Santillan, Rivero snd Tratter for playing time in DLSU. Same for Carino at SBC. Aquino looks slower than Baltazar and Carino. They have to prove themselves first in their respective collegiate squads to be able to be callled up. Malayo pa at marami pang kakaining bigas IMO.

poor kid. Like a 5yr old not being allowed to play by his parents. Too much energy and no chance to release it. literal na benched lol, bawal tumayo.

He has to be professional...lalo niyong kinawawa si Kobe...baka bukas makalawa bumalik na yan sa US.

That's the problem, they need to prove themselves first siguro pag 23-25 years old na sila. Dapat mala NBA tayo na we should look for the potential ng mga 18-19 years old players. That's the problem here in our country. Mas may tiwala pa sa 23 year old undersized college big kaya pag dating ng PBA gurang na and not enough room for improvement. Tapos we envy other countries' young and promising bigs that are already playing Internatiknal
              Ball.

                  • Singapore looks good in this tournament. Probably the best team they can put up now, also with plenty of height for SEA games standard.
Hope they can make some noise and put up a tough fight vs Malaysia/Indon/Thais and maybe even Philippines.

only a matter of time. They have the height and money. SG has made a huge improvement despite only starting a few years ago

that Goh and Low combination is good. but i'll reserve my judgement once they face malaysia, indonesia, thailand and gilas.

                        • its good that gilas was able to have composure and defeat thailand. i think gilas was caught by surprise with what thailand had to offer. same thing happened in SEABA Cup that was held in thailand. first meeting with gilas is very close gilas again caught off guard which is quite normal. good thing the kids had the composure. i do think that if thailand and gilas meets again its same story. gilas will be able to pounce again on them.

paras is currently playing out of position. i understand why he is having a hard time. i think he is playing 4. which the team needs right now. hope they experiment in playing 5 for xtian,4 for troy and 3 for paras soon with 2 parks and 1 for ravena.

Natumbok mo. Dragan Bender wasn't the main man for Maccabi Tel Aviv yet he was drafted 2nd overall because of his size, skillset and potential not for his stats.

Another problem is our local international sized bigs are not that skilled. In Tagalog, banban pa. We really have to come up with some type of program that will not let players of this size go to waste. Puro nalang tayo excuse na we lack the height pero pag may malaki hindi naman tuturuan. You can never teach height. Is the SBP or a pricate entity willing to finance such a program? Yung higanteng magilas nawala na parang bula.

Dragan was picked 4th.. anyway our bano bigs needs more exposure and training. Who knows we just might find a better backup big than JF.
