If the PBA have more teams (say at least 15 teams), he could surely play more and excel.
Don Camaso, no doubt was one heck of a jumper. He also ran the floor well. However, his outside shot was not that consistent, and he lacked the lateral movement to stay with the perimeter players he was tasked to guard. He also wasn't a good inside defender in the PBA because he was too thin.

Bryan Gahol was done for even before he left college. I remember him having a stellar season for the UP Fighting Maroons in the '97-'98 season alongside Paolo Mendoza, Jonathan Serrano, and Ogie Gumatay. However, he suffered an ACL tear in the middle of the season and was sidelined for more than a year. It took him a lot of time to get back a fraction of the game he once had.

Last time I heard of him, he shot a game-winning three-pointer for Alaska.

That was a play-off game against Alaska and Red Bull. Red Bull was down by 2 and he made a three-point shot. I think he plays in the NBC or in the MVBA, I'm not sure which.

We have to take note that Willie Miller decided to forego his varsity eligibility to play in the PBL. At that time, NCAA rules stipulate that players have to complete three seasons of action before they will be allowed to play for commercial leagues. Miller could not wait so he just left Letran before what could have been his breakout NCAA season.

Braulio Lim was a good player when he was still in the PBL and in the UE Warriors but in the PBA he was a fluke.

“Hindi ko na inaano ‘yun (mapasama sa pool) eh,” Santos said. “Kung susumahin mo ang buhay naming mga player, ‘san ba talaga ang first priority namin, ‘di ba? Ang first priority ko, dahil dito ko nakuha lahat ng kagandahan ng buhay ko at para sa pamilya ko, ang San Miguel. Alam naman ng lahat ‘yun. Ito ang dapat kong paglingkuran.”

Henry Ong (mapua HS).. I still have nightmares of him scoring 50 pts during the championship game on my first year with San Beda high. We couldn't do anything cause he was shooting 5 ft from the line! Sadly his stroke was shot from the waste and really could not get it off against taller players in the PBL and the pro's.

Jenkins Mesina... dubbed the next Patrimonio but with 3 pt range. Teamed up with Ritualo at San Beda to win 3 straight championships. Sadly he also got Samboy Lim injury prone legs. On his fourth year with us suffered a major injury which he wasn't really able to fully recover from. Last thing I heard he became a practice player of Purefoods.

Henry Sy..you may not know this guy but he would have made it to the NBA. He was only in his first year in HS but was already playing as the star of San Beda junior. Take note, this 1st year batch included the likes of ritualo, mesina, bravo, reroma, marcos etc. Virtually unguardable even at just 5'9". During practices, coach Ato would make 2-3 of us guard him but he embarassed all of us. A freak too, built like a man already and could dunk in traffic. Saddly he got into the wrong crowd and did drugs! After being kicked out, Ato got him again for the Seniors team when he coached there for a year. saddly he was but a shadow of himself and got cut. syet sayang talaga!

Jasper Ocampo - happends to be the teammate of Chris Webber way back in High School. Jasper is one time PBA 3 point king.

Bonbon Lim - brother of Samboy Lim, played for Letran Knights during the 90's.

Paul Raymond Du - played for RP NT in the 1995 SEA Games along with Bal David, Marlou Aquino, Michael Orquillas etc.

Chris Bade - member of 1993 RP NT ( SEA Games )

Richie Ticzon - deadly 3-pointer during his College at Ateneo and PBL with Burger Machine under coach Perry Ronquillo.

Richard Dela Rosa - 5'6 PG, played for FEU and Blu Detergents along with Asi Taulava in the PBL, dubbed as " Blulilit " because of their mutt and jeff tandem of Asi.

Papa of DLSU - after Toni Boy Espinosa he became the starting PG for DLSU ( before Jason Webb and Luigi Trillo ) did not play in the PBL.

Ruel Buenaventura - Talented C for UE before, too bad came along with the Fil-Ams when he became a Rookie in the PBA.

Aldwyn Manubag - Deadly 3pointer from UE, drafted in the PBA but wasn't given a chance to play ( tough competition against the Fil-Ams )

Rommel Santos - after couple of years of stay in Shell, all of sudden gone and never played again.

                                Other Missing Players

These Names are very Popular during their College careers

Ruel Bueneventura – 6’5 Center of University of the East in the late 90’s. A key player for that UE varsity team. He went on to play in the PBL with Ana Freezer along with Former UP Maroon Bryan Gahol. In the PBA He was drafted by Pop Cola but was seldom use in his stint. When Redbull enter the league he was listed to the Expansion draft and Redbull took him. With Redbull the same misfortune occurred he was seldom used where the team had Fil-Ams and plenty of big men afterwards he drifted to some minor leagues.

Gherome Ejercito – 6’2 Pointguard of Adamson University in the late 90’s also. Member of the Ejercito-Estrada clan he was automatically included in the San Juan Andoks Knights. With his height he made mismatch on his position in the MBA. He had a good short career in the MBA. But when the PBA teams was pirating MBA stars his agent arrange him to play for Talk N Text with a very lucrative contract. Part of the Talk N Text MBA Recruiting spree (Bong Ravena, Don Camaso, Returnee Gabby Qui and other can’t remember). Gherome made little impact in the league except for some occasional games. He ended his career with Redbull

Jasper Ocampo – 5’6 Pointguard of San Sebastian Stag. A good three point specialist and playmaker. Jasper had a very impressive college career that made the PBA team took a glance on him. Jasper was eventually drafted by Pop Cola. Jasper had sporadic good games when given minutes he will likely to contribute but due to his size the PRO level was not enough with his talent. Lasting only for 2 season Jasper made an exit in the PBA. I think if im correct he made an attempt with the MBA (but the League folded that same year). Lets add also his famous teammate Ulysses Tanigue who played for Purefoods also for a very short time

Erwin Luna – 6’7 Center of Adamson University in the mid and late 90’s. Erwin was the tall dependable center of Adamson in that era. Erwin had a great stint with Tanduay in the PBL eventhough the team was fully loaded in the front (Cantonjos, Telan, Menk(latter part)) he was a great utility player. Tanduay then was a very strong team in the PBL. When the Tanduay franchise returned to the PBA. Erwin was left due to the limit of players they can carry over. Erwin eventually was drafted by Shell but was sporadically fielded-in on actual games. Rusting in the bench Erwin virtually faded out in the line-up and was minor league lifer.

Henry Ong – 5’11 guard of UST. No UST student in the late 90’s would say they don’t know this guy. He was their Star player in that period. This Growling Tiger guard was a deadly shooter from the outside and was UST weapon in their championship run in the late 90’s. Henry Ong was devastated with injury that cut his career. Although injured he tried to come back and his name was very hard to ignore so the Batangas Blades decided to take him in the MBA. Henry Ong injuries hampered his career and the Blades had rarely use him fully eventually to the end. Same with the Rommel Santos case – the 5’11 filam guard who was always cut by injury when his game was already at a climb. Rommel played for Purefoods,Shell, lastly with Tanduay). In the NBA Brent Price is another example of this case.

Jomer Rubi – 5’8 pointguard of UPHR. The Alta’s star player before the Jojo Manalo’s and Chester Tolomia era. Jomer Rubi in the mid-90s was their top playmaker and ball hawker with reliable shooting . Part of the Chiang Mai Sea games Philippine contingent which includes future PBA players(Bal David, Marlou Aquino, Michael Orquillas ,Jason Webb,Mar Morelos, etc.) that gave us a gold medal. His PBL career was uneventful but the Tanduay franchise eyed him. He played in the PBA for a very short time and as the Tanduay team strengthening their roster Jomer was drop plus the injuries.

Brandon Sison and Rainier Sison – The Ateneo’s Sison , Brandon the 6’4 forward is a hardworking player and has a little quickness for his size. He was a main stay in the PBL before deciding to join the PBA draft. Brandon was eventually drafted but never played a single PBA game. Rainier on the other hand was a 6’2 shooting guard a key player for the Ateneo team’s Championship run. Rainier was more lucky he was drafted by Shell and played sporadic stints on and off in the regular and reserve roster. Played with Coke for some games and back in the PBL. Rainier’s shooting talent was not fully utilized in the PBA’s guard-rich lineups.

Dino Aldeguer – The LaSalle Point guard where Don Allado reign the UAAP league. Dino is a disciplined player and a leader. Scoring was not his main weapon but his playmaking and game control. Dino went on to play with Alaska in 2000 for one season famous for his mid-court buzzer beater The next year he showed up in the MBA Negros Slasher team. As the MBA unfolded Dino went back to PBL for some stints and is currently reported to be the coach of Dela Salle Zobel (Alabang) Varsity Basketball Team with his Borther Boris Aldeguer and Sales businessman.

Another what happen question is to this guy?????????????/

Cris Mendoza – 6’5 Forward who played for the Cebu Gems in the maiden season on the MBA, he was paired up with Rob Duat then. Cris Mendoza was a former Valencia High School Player in California he was always refered to “Fashion is not a Crime” because of his Dennis Rodman colored hair looks and in 1998 the commercial was very famous. After that Cebu Gems stint no body knows what happen to him………….back in the US my best guess

Marlon Legaspi – Former 6’6 Center-Forward of MLQU varsity team. Tagged as the “Legaspi Tower” Marlon was impressive in his debut on his PBL stints. He did stayed long in the PBL dropping his market value in the PBA and was drafted by Shell. He was doing good with Shell in his rookie sesason and many though he already had that break but Injury came and cut it short. But when he was already ready to come back and recovered Shell disbanded leaving Marlon jobless. Marlon ended up in the NBC and minor leagues. Marlon should be given a second chance in the PBA.

David Friedhof – 6’3 Former AppleState University Player. This Fil-Am had the body for the PBA. Solid and is likely to play the small forward. He was taken by Tanduay and played in the season where their star Fil-shams ( Puerto-rican Sonny Alvarado and Eric Menk) are absent. He was very productive on the limited minutes given to him. And was carried in 2002 with Fed-Ex franchise (which will be sadly his last year) where he seems to experience more problems in playing minutes and by the next season he was cut in the lineup due to the Racist Doctrine of the Bert Lina Franchise.
(Embarrass with the discovery of faking Jeffrey Flowers and Chris Clay they adapt a policy of racism accepting only Philippine-grown player – other victim Jay Washington (although born in Zambales a Natural-Born Filipino Citizen the idea of him growing up in the US was already a Sin for the Fed-Ex and was traded immediately). Friedhoff is still at his prime and could be given a second tour of duty.

Cid White – 6’3 Former Simon Fraser College Player. He played for the MBA in the Nueva Ecija Patriots. A Solid player he was able to played 3 frontline position but more active in 4 spot. Cid was a scrappy player and his defense was his gem. Guarding even the 6’9 Balingit on opening night. Despite the lack of his height he was instrumental in the Patriots campaign. Cid disappeared as the Patriots left the league.

John Dumont – 6’5 Fil-Canadian Former University of British Columbia Standout Guard. He set college records in 1994 ( I cant remember but im sure he has(research it guys ill be happy to hear and recall it)). John played with Pasig-Rizal Pirates in the MBA. At his built he was a mismatch problem for any team with the occasional spot duty on the Point slot. John Dumont played extensively for the team before its disbanding. John never pursue the PBA and no news afterward was heard from him……though his Pirates teammate Sonny Margate made an attempt drafted by Alaska but never played and went back to PBL for a season

ChoCho Serrano – 6’0 Former University of the Philippine Guard “ The Train” as the monicker he played for the MBA’s Manila Metrostar. During this period he was becoming a more polished player and played on with the Blades. But PBA level was more than he expected and ended up playing abroad in Brunei where most of MBA jobless went.
