  • 2016 Adidas Global Challenge

2016 Adidas Global Nations is underway in Los Angeles, from July 29 through August 1.

    Teams competing are:
Africa, Asia-Pacific, Canada, Latin America and 4 USA teams (two 2017-Class named after Harden & Rose and tew 2018's, Lillard & Wiggins).

Asia-Pacific looks an AUS+NZL team (probably due to Fiba Asia U18 tournament), Canada has some U17/U18 NT members, same for US teams and Latin America.

Games schedule and D1 results here.

USA Harden (2017-Class) and Team Canada are both unbeaten at 3-0 after D2 games. Canada roster includes seven junior NT players (4xU18, 3xU17), USA Harden has 4xU17 and 2xU18 NT, plus #1 prospect DeAndre Ayton. Looks like a high level tournament indeed.

P.S. Thread title is wrong, should actually be Adidas Global Nations!

Team USA Harden (2017-class) and Canada will play for the title game. USA Harden is unbeaten so far having won over Canadian team in yesterday group phase game.
Team USA Rose (2017) will face Team Africa for the third place in another rematch (it was yesterday edged by the surprising Africans).
The two 2018-class USA teams finished last in their groups.

Team USA Harden is 2016 champ after defeating Canada 123-96. USA trailed at ht, but exploded with a 43-19 Q3 that closed the game. Winners were led by Jaylen Hands 18 pts, but all team members scored. Nickeil Walker was high for Canada with 17.
See from box score names how many have played with junior NT.
Team Rose finished third winning over Team Africa, 105-92.

Lamine Diane of Senegal topped all scorers stats with 27.7 ppg, while 2017 #1 prospect DeAndre Ayton was the best rebounder and only player averaging a double-double.
