Of course Wright isn't yet in the level of premier scorers Romeo and Castro espcially for the PBA, no one ever said he was. Especially with Pheonix where he has to be the go to guy. But this is Gilas we're talking about , for the role asked of him for Gilas (shooter), he fits. What is interesting though the coaching staff is also high on Matt's defense and passing. Reason why it wasn't by accident that he was guarding Barroca and asked to inbound the ball in plays designed by Chot ( which resulted in 2 assist) . What coaches are seeing in Matt is while he isn't a go to type scorer , he's a very good all around versatile player that fits a team with go to scorers ( Romeo, Castro, Junmar, Blathce) , sometimes you need guys like that to form a team

And your basis for a player can't shoot is one all star shoot out contest, should't you be looking at number of 3's made in a game avg and shooting %. Tell me that's not more logical. Even Lassiter considered by many as the best shooter in the PBA didn't do well earlier. You telling me if you had the chance to get lassiter for his shooting you would't cause of how he performed in that one shootout contest, really. what baloney

The all star games are just fun games. The game stats are useless. The decision will be based on practice results and consistency in pba performance. Only international stats are relevant. Cant use international performance as the pinoys are not even in the top twenty yet.
