I look forward in seeing him play in a level where it is far below that of the Reno Big-Horns and the D-League. Still, Liam McMorrow probably is the best Canadian player to have played in the SBL.

Fubon is really stacked and pre-season hype have them as the top contenders: Joe Lin, TJ Burke, Tsai Wen-Tseng, Hong Shih-Shan, Chang Tsung-Hsien, Song Yu-Hsuan and Chang Bowei.

Too bad they just missed out that signing of Hamady N'Diaye, who played in the Jones Cup this year with Mighty Sports Philippines. N'Diaye chose to sign with Unicaja Malaga. Canadian Liam McMorrow is said to be flying in for a contract.

Caught up with a couple of games by Pure Youth during the FIBACC. The dynasty will have trouble closing games this season as Tsai Wen-Cheng is gone but there's glimmer of hope as Douglas Creighton looked better in the pre-season, often hustling and defending like never before. This team needs young talent to develop ASAP.

Saw the first game of Fubon vs Dacin and being the super team that Fubon is, chemistry and execution is still a work in progress for them. Lots of broken plays and isolation ball but they won through talent and Dacin melting down on offense.

For Dacin, Sim Bhullar was in foul trouble early in the second quarter while Chou Yi-Hsiang looked so frustrated at times. Good game for Lu Chih-Er, able to beat his defender through hesitation and score.

Pure Youth's Lee Chi-Wei will be an All-Star this season or if not, next season. Hard worked paid off after mostly sitting on the bench in 2013 but worked on his game during trips to China and has transformed himself into a younger and more athletic version of Tsai Wen-Cheng.

Although he has the tendency to fall in love with the three pointer in volume attempts, that can be remedied as continuously learn the game. At 6'4 he is an ideal SF for the national team.

Hong Shih-Shan named player of the week during tip off week. In his return, demonstrated great composure in being selective in his shot as he let the offense flow. His experience with the NT and CBA will help this Fubon team when they experience end-game scenarios and the first set of adversity.

Big numbers put up by Eugene Phelps but KKL still lost as his teammates seemed genuinely uninterested to play at all, all they did was to look to give him the ball and run back on defense after he makes / misses the shot. You can here Coach Yong-Tai of Yulon shout: "Let him shoot outside and just focus on the outside". Which pretty much sums up KKL's lack of plans for attack.

The sad story of Patrick O'Brien's dismissal from Taiwan Beer. Although lazy at times, he was capable when motivated. A noteable player really for the TB's franchise.

Was able to see O'Bryant's last game with TB, thought he was just hurt when I saw Bryan Davis with Team Green.

Big loss. I'm sure TB let him get away with some things.

Cannot replace the skill set on this guy. Offensively skilled from inside out to the 3 point stripe. The length at the rim defensively, helping to deter drives at the rim. His replacement, Bryan Davis is a prototypical big man at a solid 6-9, who's probably limited to 12 feet and in offensively. A 3 point shooting 7-1 center can't be replace. Very big loss for Team Green.

Should be down to a 2 team race for the title now.

Very true. With the departure of Liu Cheng, I once thought that O'Bryant will take in a much wider and heavy engagement with the team's offense. With Davis, TB is now running the fast-break as much as possible.

Fubon is just deflating as a team right now while Dacin's frenzied run and gun game currently holds the top rank in the league. To beat the Warriors is to force the offense to go on the weak-side and overload the strong side. Fubon has looked like a team that is uncomfortable to operate within pressure situation as the chemistry is not there.

Yulon's Chou Shih-Yuan is nearing a career milestone: 4000 points scored in the SBL. What a company he will be joining from Chen Hsin-An, Lin Chih-Chieh to the recent Tien Lei and Lu Cheng-Ju.

With the lost against Taiwan Beer last night, Liam McMorrow gets the boot and Fubon will name a replacement foreigner right away. If you ask me, end-game situations spells trouble for Fubon as the offense becomes very predictable where two people are expected to get their hands on the ball. Replacing McMorrow does not solve the problem.

Also, TB's Yu Yuan-Ha is national team material.

Patrick O'Bryant is back and he is joining Fubon. This is the team's last gamble after McMorrow and Barron. Unlike in TB where O'Bryant was expected to shoulder everything, in Fubon, can just focus on his internal game, thus giving Fubon a go-to option inside. Still, Fubon's problem is end-game execution and the awful defense in OT or the last 2 mins of the game. Crucial crossroads for the team.
