Yes, LG lacked a leader in the floor for two seasons now because Si-Rae is off to military service. He will be back with LG February 2017.

I surely hope that LG guards will buck up and not waiting for Si-Rae's return though. The regular season would be pretty much over by Feb 2017

@CKR13, Out of curiosity, is PG Yoo Byung Hoon still with LG Sakers? I don't see him joining the team training of late. Or was he selected for the army service? Thanks

Currently, I have no news. Last time I checked, it was Joo Ji-Hoon who enlisted from LG this year.

Korea University's Lee Jong-Hyun's slight stress fracture is recovering better than expected from the medical timetable that was originally presented. As the KBL rookie draft is moving to the pre-draft camp, Lee will be able to participate in light drills. Looks like he will be available to play for the team that drafts him next month.

Thanks. I notice that even another point guard is now wearing the jersey no.3

Samsung Thunder finished third in the Merlion Cup.

Good prep tourney for them. Prior to playing in Singapore, the team was in Japan and playing against B-League teams. The addition of Kim Tae-Sol has done wonders for the team as it effectively takes away a lot of ball-dominance by Moon Tae-Young as Kim will facilitate the offense --- ensuring offensive flow.

Kim Junil and Im Dong-Seop's conditioning looked great. Kim played for the NT and it helped his game shape greatly. He played a lot of PF minutes and can now fit Samsung's running game.

Ulsan has won the draft lottery and will pick 1st overall in this year's draft. Ulsan is followed by Seoul SK, Incheon, Samsung and LG.

So if we follow the mock-draft projections of the first five picks, here goes:

Ulsan Mobis - Lee Jong-Hyun - Korea University
Seoul SK Knights - Choi Joon-Young - Yonsei University
Incheon ET Land - Kang Sangjae - Korea University
    Samsung Thunder - Park Cheol-Uk - Kyung-Hee University
LG Sakers - Cheon Ki-Beom - Yonsei University

Am not sure about Cheon for LG, maybe it will be an SG like Korea U's Cho Sung-Mo or a versatile PF like Yonsei's Park In-Tae.

    KBL 2016 Draft First Round

    1 Lee Jong-Hyun - Ulsan Mobis
    2 Choi Joon-Young - Seoul SK Knights
3 Kang Sangjae - Incheon ET Land
    4 Cheon Ki-Bum - Samsung
    5 Park In-Tae - LG Sakers
    6 Park Ji-Hun - Busan Sonicboom KT
    7 Cho Seong-Mo - Wonju Dongbu Promy
    8 Kim Cheol-Uk - Anyang KGC
    9 Han Jun-Young - Jeonju KCC Egis
    10 Kim Jinyu - Goyang

Big winner is Ulsan with Lee Jong-Hyun, whose arrival has been long heralded since 2012. Jong-Hyun needs to quick adapt into the pace of Ulsan's offense as it is much faster compared to what KU was running.

For Seoul SK, Choi Joon-Young is a potent addition to their mostly guard oriented offense as soon as Choi gets his footing into the pros. Aside from scoring, Choi has the potential to be a great two way player if he gets stronger compared to his frame presently.

Incheon gets another mobile forward in Kang Sangjae and will be paired up with Jeong Hyo-Geun, another sweet shooting mobile forward. With Incheon, Kang will once again have the license to shoot those threes, in which he was very proficient back in college.

Cheon Ki-Bum with Samsung is another PG experiment after the apparent failures of KU's Park Jae-Hyun and Lee Dong-Yeop. All three will have the chance to learn playmaking from Kim Tae-Sol. Cheon was once Yonsei's first option on offense but had since taken a backseat from Choi Joon-Young and Hur Hoon as Cheon focused more in floor leadership.

Park In-Tae is a high risk pick for LG. A back up for Kim Jong-Kyu, but at 200cm and having a light weight frame that is suited for a power forward role, Park will need to get stronger. His offense is raw and his mid-range shooting is inconsistent unlike former teammate Kim Junil. Park thrived for Yonsei with hustle point and his mobility to run the break.

Kim Cheol-Uk, the naturalized Chinese will help KGC's interior as Oh Se-Keun is starting to show signs of the early prime window closing quickly. But at 204cm, Kim has the frame to play center despite being listed as a power forward.

Goyang wins with Kim Jinyu as Hanyang's dynamic two guard slash small forward is a good defender and can drain threes.

Watched the draft kbl a while ago. Third and 4th round , some clubs choose not to pick any players though. Surprised that mobis and orions chose 4 players each. It's the new generation to shine and pick up the skills as much as they can from their seniors

In the opening weekend, Anyang KGC played very well as a team compared to the other teams whose offense now relies heavily on foreigners. Lee Jung-Hyun and Oh Se-Keun combined for 45 points and that got KGC a win over Seoul SK in a run and gun game. Terrico White for Seoul SK has the same game like Aaron Haynes but the problem for them was their interior defense where Oh Se-Keun thrived in second chance points.

KBL rookies like Lee Jong-Hyun will play in mid-November.

LG got its first win to open the season -- without Kim Jong-Kyu. Efevberha could flat out score but it will remain to be seen whether he can contribute in the long run in LG's defense as Jong-Kyu has next to nothing in shot-blocking inside. Kim Young-Hwan, who looked slow and uninspired was surpisingly left wide open to get most of his points.

KCC looked very tired in this game, having played and being routed by Goyang the day before. Back to back games in a small league like the KBL won't work. One day-off and one-day play would be much better.

He's indeed in a lot of pain. Missing three months is as good as half season gone. All the more this may be in final year before he retires. Gonna miss his action on the floor

Park Chan-Hee is enjoying a resurgence with Incheon. Currently averaging 10.5ppg and 8.7apg in the past three games as Incheon has found the facilitator for their uptempo attack. Park has not put up this numbers since the 2012-2013 season where Lee Jung-Hyun back then was the inconsistent one. Took time to be a big time scorer and shooter like what he is today.

Meanwhile, Kim Jong-Kyu is trying to make a 5th of November return to the lineup.
